Question about Toshiba Satellite A135-S2386 Notebook

Open Question

Laptop won't start-up Toshiba Satellite A135-S2356

On start-up the green start button comes on, and hear the sound of the cooling fan and with-in a second or two a sound comes from the disk drive and then complete shut down.  This all takes place in 4 to 5 seconds.
This happens on battery and AC power.
Computer is about 18 months old.

I've removed the battery and re-inserted it...just the same
Tried to start on AC only with the battery removed and get no start-up at all.
Any and all help is appreciated.

I have the Toshiba A135-S2356 and i'm experiencing the same problem. Mine started to do this after i was i had issues with only 2 of my usb ports working. I saw a topic on this and there was a link to update the bios system, http://laptopforums.toshiba.com/t5/Gener..., through that site. I clicked the link and downloaded the update. Once i clicked install the computer froze and i couldn't restart at all. The only way was for me to take out the battery. Once i put the battery back in i then tried to power it back on and thats when this current issue started to happen.

Could it be that the bios update fried my hard drive?

This website will help you

In summary, try typing in some backdoor passwords. Then try removing the battery that they were talking about.

To remove go here http://www.irisvista.com/tech/laptops/toshiba-satellite-a135/remove-mainboard-4.htm.

The battery is in some plastic blue outline.

Toshibba laptop a135-s2276 ,my mother bords smd chip does not work so display of screen does not appear

The problem is well known witht this model Toshiba - the problem is the fan stops working and then hence shuts down to prevent overheating - it does not take long once the laptop is hot. Without replacing the fan just reboot the laptop until you hear the fan start again on reboot.
