Clean the rubber rollers (pickup and ******) with a damp cloth, loosen the papers to be scanned. Clean all the rollers in the scanning path. What is the eror that is displayed? Download the user manual from this site http://www.usa.canon.com/opd/controller?act=OPDSoftwareAct&fcategoryid=2341&modelid=11293 (5010um.pdf). Change the rollers if they are old.

I am getting tiny white specks on my scanned black and white images, regardless of whether I use the 'black' or 'color' button to scan the image. They are especially visible in the solid black fields of the photographs. I have carefully cleaned the scanner bed and dusted the photographs, but I can't seem to get an image without the specks showing up. (I had scanned a sepia image that appears to be 'clean'.) Any advice would be most appreciated!

The buttons on the front of my Canoscan Lide 30 do not work. I would like to use the scan button and then save it to a thumb drive, rather than to my computer. How do I activate my buttons?

I'm trying to scan a test chart into a DR-5010 scanner. It's a little wider than a regular page. I'm using paperport 11. I changed the width and legnth using the area tab, but it still cuts off about a fourth of the chart after it scans and goes on to paperport. It shows the whole chart when I preview it, but the output isn't the same as the preview. Any suggestions?
