Re: Compatible processor

Do you want to risk your processor for that? it will literally kill your motherboards power section.

Re: Compatible processor

Yes, if you overclock you computer, I believe if you enter your bios of the motherboard, asus already has a pre overclock options. That is if your using a p4 2.8 ghz processor. You can not put a 3ghz processor and overclock it to a higher fsb, your motherboard will literally smoke up but, most motherboards probably can easily detect a non compatible CPU.

Excuseme,I don't speak english, but I need the audio driver for motherboard ASUS P4GE-MX for windows 7 32bit. You can answer me in this address e-mail: thanks

Have you checked with ASUS TechSupport? That is a very old System Board and most likley does not support Windows 7 and Asus most likley has no plans to release any. I recommend buying a newer model of system board, which will require newer CPU, RAM and video card to successfully implement Windows 7 and find drivers more easily.

Check this Asus forum post with similar question:

Also not sure if you tried running the Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor before you upgraded.

it most likely would have advised against installing Windows 7 on the current system and recommended what you would need to upgrade first.

Good Luck!

Pc upgrade

Hi ****, you can increase you system speed slightly (Depending on the total memory speed of the card), by adding an AGP 4x video card & setting your bios to boot to AGP. See page 2-16 in your manual. Change, Init Display First to [AGP]. Doing this will disable the onboard - integrated video card. (Doing this will also free your system memory which is used to run the onboard graphics card). Increasing your system memory to its max of 2GB will help as well. Here is Crucial's memory link for your board. You should increase the CPU if at all possible to its max speed in-order to see an over-all increase of system performance. (This is not what you asked for, so I'll only include Asus link for supported CPU's, for the P4GE-MX motherboard). Don't expect lighting speed but you will notice game playing speed much better. Programs should load much faster, ECT. Upgrading the AGP must comply with 4x/8x (+1.5volt only). Please see page 1-12 in your manual. Looking for XFX video card is best because it carries a lifetime warranty. Try this link: You can continue to search for an XFX Geforce cards. (Best on the market for their lifetime warranty). Good luck ****! Though the AGP slot is faster than a PCI slot, you may find an XFX PCI card with more video memory on it. Some even run DDR3 & DDR3 memory. Mike
