Question about D-Link AirPlus G Wireless Range Extender DWL-G710 (dwlg710) Repeater
Wireless friends, I have a 2Wire 2700 HG-B Gateway from AT&T (DSL) and I wish to extend the range using the D-LINK DWL-G710 range extender. I used a stand alone laptop to communicate with the D-LINK and was able to communicate with it and to detect the SSID on the 2WIRE Gateway. The IP address of the range extender is now set to the same address as the Gateway namely 192.168.1.254 so that I can repeat and extend the signal. WEP is set to open and the HEX code is set to 64 bit on both. The problem is that the D-LINK DWL-G710 wireless does not light up indicating that it sees the 2WIRE Gateway even in the same room as the Gateway. Any help would be appreciated.
The IP address must be different on the router & extender but use the same subnet mast. The extender has to have the gateway set as the IP address on the router.
