You can most definitely replace the whole keyboard.

If you don't want to spend upwards of $100 dollars just for that keyboard, though, I would suggest going on ebay and checking out the selection of keyboards and other things they have. It is completely possible to buy a 99 cent keyboard and replace the key with that. Then, you will also have backups for any future mishaps.

I spilled my TOSHIBA SATELITE C660 with very small amount of pure water. some of the keypads had stopped working. how can I revive these dead keypads without replacing the entire keypad?

Short answer is... you can't, The circuit part of the keyboard is just a couple of printed mylar sheets overlaid on top of one another - then "manufactured" into the entire keyboard (by adding keyswitches, keys, and bottom tray, etc. You can take it apart, and you may well be able to clean it and fix it - but you'll never be able to put it back together and have it fit and work the way it used to. Replacing the keyboard is the easiest and the cheapest thing to do.

Dead keys on the keyboard of a 2000 Cisnet laptop; what can I do to fix?

Contact the manufacturer and order another keyboard.

(If under warranty, just have it replaced rather than ordering one).

Good Luck :)

My Acer One has lost the 'X' key. Can keys be purchased or would this fall under warrantee (purchased last January? Are keys easy to replace?

If the X key is just the X cover then yes, you can purchase them at a computer store, however they have have to custom order for you, when you get it just snap it in, it's easy. If you have lost the groove or if the elastic is broken under the key you would need a new keypad. You can find this out if you take a key off of another letter and try snapping it in the X spot. If they key falls off then you turn it upside down, then that means it is not sticking and you cannot fix it without an entire new keypad. Hope this helps. Cheers.
