You can most definitely replace the whole keyboard.

<a rel='nofollow' href="http://www.laptoprepairco.com/itemdetails/itemdetails.asp?ref=1345&category=keyboards"> http://www.laptoprepairco.com/itemdetails/itemdetails.asp?ref=1345&category=keyboards</a>

If you don't want to spend upwards of $100 dollars just for that keyboard, though, I would suggest going on ebay and checking out the selection of keyboards and other things they have. It is completely possible to buy a 99 cent keyboard and replace the key with that. Then, you will also have backups for any future mishaps.

My Acer One has lost the 'X' key. Can keys be purchased or would this fall under warrantee (purchased last January? Are keys easy to replace?

If the X key is just the X cover then yes, you can purchase them at a computer store, however they have have to custom order for you, when you get it just snap it in, it's easy. If you have lost the groove or if the elastic is broken under the key you would need a new keypad. You can find this out if you take a key off of another letter and try snapping it in the X spot. If they key falls off then you turn it upside down, then that means it is not sticking and you cannot fix it without an entire new keypad. Hope this helps. Cheers.

Lock 9 light is on

The numeric keypad functions like the numeric keypad on an external keyboard. Each key on the keypad has multiple functions. The keypad numbers and symbols are marked in blue on the right of the keypad keys. To type a number or symbol, hold down <Fn> and press the desired key.
  • To enable the keypad, press <Num Lk>. The keyboar2.jpg light indicates that the keypad is active.

  • To disable the keypad, press <Num Lk> again.
