Nope, the new Fring does not work as advertised on the Samsung GT-I9300. It will require you to re-invite all your exisitng Fring contacts to upgrade and it may take several days.
I have a contact who installed the latest version on his iPhone and I received an invitation to upgrade to the latest version which I already have. I am still listed as not yet available on his phone. I also re-invited him to upgrade (although he has the latest version) and he still appears as not yet available and his status is stated as "that XXX is still using the old version of Fring"
So forget about Fring until they can come up with a REAL solution. In the meantime, ask all your contacts to use Skype.
I had the same problem with the latest firmware (Version 250). It was working perfectly earlier but this problem arose suddendly. I fixed it after many days by installing an older firmware (Version 245 in my case) and then installing the latest firmware again (Version 250).
You can install the firmware by going to:
Menu > Settings > Advanced > Firmware Update > All Firmware vers. > (select firmware version) > Install
Please make sure that you don't loose power and internet to your base station during the update. Also, your handset should be fully charged.
Hi, the problem you are having is with the settings that are stored on your phone, the chances are these have never been setup correctly and you usually get this problem when you change the sim card in the phone to another sim or another network.
now all you need to do to solve this problem is call your service provider and tell them the make and model of phone you have got then ask them to send you the latest mms and wap settings.
your service provider wont charge you anything for doing this and they will send you the settings via text message this will then update your phone to the latest settings and you will be able to use the phone as you want to then.
you can sometimes send the settings to the phone yourself via your service providers web site, but not all service providers offer this service so you would have to check.
the quickest and easiest way would be to give them a call and ask them to send you the latest settings. they will do this for free so just give them a call and your phone will be then set up correctly.

Hi this is a very common problem and usually happens if you have changed you phone to another network.
all you need to do is call your service provider and tell them what make and model of phone you have got then ask them to send you the latest mms and wap settings, they wont charge for sending these to you and they will send them via text message. this will then update your phone to the latest media message settings and internet settings, once this is done you will be able to send and receive what ever you like.
