-   Sharp 27J-S260 made dec 1997. Pic & sound fine. But high
pitched noise/loud squeal (>10KHz) intermittent when TV
is on. Torquing the cable connector and/or pressing on
various parts of the external case can make it go away,
or louder. does not seem to be at all related to the
picture, or whether signal is from rca jack composite
or barrel cable connector. Been like this for a long
time, but pic is still great. Using rubber bands to keep
pressure on the threaded cable connector with some success
at living with this very annoying symptom. Many, many thanks
in advance for your advice/expertise.

Is this an RCA or GE? If so then the horizontal output is shorted. And maybe a capacitor or 2. Need model number to be more sure.

I have a 2002 Panasonic 27d12df tv... When i turn it on it stays black and it has a high pitched noise and will not turn off until I pull the plug... Is this a power supply problem and how much will it cost to fix...? Should i just buy a new computer..? Any advice will be greatly appreciated...

Have same problem also, on a Panasonic CT 3283W. And on ours it is also related to the amount of white on the screen, the more white, the more noise

Same deal, High pitched sound comming from the TV. I've checked all the inputs, they are secure. All the fittings are tight. I moved the cable box, the DVD player. Un hooked everything, re installed every thing. I've even considered sacrificing a small woodland creature to the TV gods.....to no avail. Could it be a fan? Is there a fan in there? I'm pretty handy, and have no fear of tearing stuff apart to fix it. (I'm a biker and a gunner, we love to tinker......)
Some one send me in the right direction.

Thanks

Bob

I have a 5 year old Curtis mathis 19" television. After it is on for a short time this loud high pitched noise begins. What could it be and can I fix it.

Our TV makes a high pitched noise after it's been on for a while. The noise comes and goes but is related to how much light colour is displayed on the screen at the time (e.g. high pitched noise when there is a white background in the scene, which then goes quiet when the screen is displaying a darker scene). The noise will temporarily go away when the input cable is torqued to one side. The TV is a RCA F25261. Any suggestions? Thanks.
