be aware, some firms sell cheap USB charging cables for the use on cell phones. These cables don't have all wires inside to put through all the signals and are not shielded.
My guess is your MP3 player has a micro USB connector. Just lent a "real" USB cable to test if that works. If it works, buy a real USB cable.

USB adapter cables with Datamax - some cables work and some don't. Parallel to USB cable more likely to work than Serial to USB.

A standard PS2 to USB cable will not work with these scanners. You'll need to purchase cable # M009-3MA7C. They are expensive, so shop around for price.

The USB ports on the monitor will work only if you connect the monitor via a USB cable to your PC/Laptop's USB port. Sounds awkward. Doesn't it? There must be a USB cable with flat socket on one end and trapezium shape jack on one end. It should be in the box which the monitor came in. The USB ports in the monitor are just another extended USB ports for your PC/Laptop. If you can't find the cable mentioned above, it is the same cable you connect to a printer, scanner,........ In some cases you might need to install a driver which should also come along with monitor. Mostly you don't need to install.

You need a Printer usb cable. It is now common that company don't offer the cable with new printer. You can use an old one or buy a new.

USB cables are mostly standardized. Printers usually use the most common type of USB cable. If you go online, you can order a USB cable. If it is just an ordinary USB cable, it should work. Make sure to get the right length, or at least as long as you need it.

There are a couple mini USB connectors out there, especially in digital cameras.
But what you need is the most common USB A -> USB Mini B cable, as used with many MP3 players, USB hubs, cellphones etc.
For example, a Nokia DKE-2 cable will work perfectly.

As you are receiving the USB device not recognized whenever you plug in the USB cable, the problem could be either due to the corrupted USB drivers on your computer or the USB cable needs to be replaced. Try updating your USB drivers and/or replace the USB cable. I am sure that the issue will be resolved.
