Question about HP Pavilion dv4000 Notebook
I am a technician working on an HP Pavilion DV4000. The problem I have is that the picture is only filling up the top left portion of the screen, (as if it were stuck in some kind of 4:3 aspect ratio as opposed to it's native 16:9 widescreen mode). Even upon boot and in the BIOS. (similar to the way a desktop monitor would have to be adjusted via the buttons on the front of it. I've tried changing any and all settings I could find for video/screen adjustment within Windows XP Home. No luck... Can someon please help me!? Thank you VERY much in advance.
Have you changed the resolution?
Go to control panel, display, settings, and make sure the resolution is set to more. Click on the advanced button and choose the tab for graphics or the graphics controller, choose properties, and adjust the screen area.
Please also consult this link recommended setting for HP notebooks. (click here)
If that doesn't do it, is there a possibility that the wrong driver has been installed. You can check the original product specs at hp.
