That is best bet since it appears that your print head is fubar and Canon charges a fortune for them. Cheaper to get a new printer with warranty.

If you removed and reinstalled toner correctly several times and this error code is flashing, you need to try another new toner cartridge, even though the other one may seem still good to you. If this doesn't remedy problem the Troubleshooting section of the Canonusa.com website says to call 1-800-OK-CANON.

E000019-0000 indicates that the Waste Toner container is full.

i had the same problem on one mf changed drum and toner twice as i'm a brother re-seller
at the end had to call brother italy where i live made some tests but at the end they will change the mf with a new one as i sold it less than a year ago so i'm in time to ask the warranty
the mf had 12k copies by the way, way to much for the printer that is

Ususally the clicking happens when a live phone line (from the wall jack) is plugged into the extension jack on the machine. The extension jack will have a little icon of a telephone next to it. The line from the wall should be plugged into the jack with an "L" (Line) next to it.

Grinding noise?

The problem is with the paper tray not the toner, believe it or not. Take all of the paper out of the tray and then reinsert the paper into the tray. It should then work fine.
