You need to go to Roland's website and get the latest driver for your sound card and operating system.

If you have some software provided by your ISP. Could be on a CD, then try to install it.
Else
Contact your ISP and they will provide you with gateway, and provide you settings which are required to access internet. Only your ISP can provide you these settings.

It may not be a virus. It sounds more like a bad case of spyware. You may want to download, install, update, and run something like Malwarebytes AntiMalware. It sounds pretty serious, so it may need the attention of a PC technician to fully remove the infection.

Hope this helps!

You can reset Roland SPD-S by using Roland SPD-S utility CD supplied with product.
If you can't locate (or lost) the CD that is included with the SPD-S which contains the factory data, you can download the file here:

Ok, first thing first. If you are not able to send you may want to verify your settings again. Some servers require authentication or some other settings in order to send. Also, some ISPs block certain ports from being used, contact your ISP and your email provider and see if they have a special port they want you to use.

That administrator permission problem sounds like a virus. I've dealt with several computers that had a similar problem, got the virus off, and they worked as they should. Try SUPERantispyware, it's a good free program and gets rid of a lot.

As he formated the hardrive i am guessing he has not installed all the proper drivers for you machine.
See if you can find the installations CD/DVDs when you got the computer.
Usally the drivers for the soundcard are located on the same CD as the motherboard drivers.
That is ofcourse if you have not bought a separate soundcard.
