No matter how many times I try, the fax doesn't go through if I get a com.e-16 message. I can't find anything to tell me what the message means. When I call the people I'm trying to fax, they report no problems with their machine and they can send to me w/out error. It's inconvient when I have important info to send out and can't send it via email.

How do I keep this from happening?!?!?!

SOURCE: cant recieve fax on Toshiba estudio 3511

Hello sir; For the fax line only have two single lines working in the cable one is in-coming ,another one is out-going, therefore if you can send fax and can not receive, that's means your phone cable or phone jack on the wall have problem, my sugestion, replace phone cable first, if still have problem check the phone jack on the wall.

Retrieve reports older than a month

Since your fax has limited capacity to store dialed numbers. Hence, you can't get the report from your fax machine. If you would have installed any other recording equipment for keeping dialed history alongwith incoming calls. They are easily and cheaply available in the market. As of now you can get the list only and only from the phone line provider. contact the customer care of the company whose telephone line you have connected to your phone. They can provide you the report at certain price.

Unable to complete fax transmissions

This turned out to be a Vonage issue. I was able to fax from my landline. I googled vonage and mx700 and found a number of similar issues. I also ended up setting my speed to 9600 and turning off TX error reporting. A quick call to vonage and an updated profile (not sure what they did) resolved the issue.

Fax

hook a phone to the line if you get a dial tone, and can dial out it is not the line, make certain the phone line is connected to correct phone jack port on the machine. there is usually phone and a line on there. connect it to the line.
What happens when you try to fax, do you get an error, what is that error. try to manually fax something.

You have to have either a dedicated phone line just for the fax --or-- pay your phone company approximately $2 a month for a service called Distinctive Ringtone. This service will ring a certain way when you have an incoming fax. You will then configure your fax machine to pick up when this distinctive rington is heard. The ringtone is usually two or three quick rings. Your fax machine's settings will have this setting.

Unfortunately, you can't just plug your fax machine into your phone line and start sending/receiving faxes. Look through your fax machine's manual regarding the distinctive ring service. Good luck!!
