Question about HP ScanJet 3970 Flatbed Scanner

When I try scanning something a message comes up that says: Sorry, cannot access your scanner. Your scanner is currently being used by another application. Please wait for the other application to finish or close it to allow H P precision scan access. This comes up every time I try to use scanner even when I try to scan as soon as I turn on the computer. Charles Johnson

    I have removed the scanner software from my computer and re-installed it but it still doesn't work. I wouldent have any idea of how to just remove the drivers. Thanks

Remove your old scanner drivers and reinstall again after restarting the computer.

Hi, my terminal Motorola MC3190 doesn't want to enable scanner and i really don't know why.... There is an error code A0000032 with message: "CANNNOT ENABLE SCANNER"


The scanner engine/output can be used only by one application. If a second application is trying to access the scanner, while in use. The error message will come.
Please check if there are more applications running in background. Usual MC9090 applications with scanner drivers are Telnet, Datawedge, Rapid Deployment and custom software.

Exit one of the application or try to exit all of them. Start your scanning application again, no error should appear now.

Symbol MC9090 Barcode Scanner cannot enable scanner error code "A0000008"

Scanner is stopping during scan cycle


when you tried it on other lmachines did you load software from same source? If its a software driver problem, you can uninstall the one you have and then try getting a new copy from hp website and reinstall fresh.
If there are any known issues or updates, then the current version will be best anyway and may solve the problem.
Probably not much you can do if its a harware problem, unless its under warranty.

Scanner command invalid in current state


I have not used CapturePerfect 3.0. Hope the scanner is just fine. Try count only mode to check if it is okay.

Uninstall Captureperfect. Run chkdsk/scandisk to check if OS is ok. Reinstall Captureperfect again and it should work.

HP F380 not scanning


This has happened to me on several occasions with a couple of different HP all-in-one scanner/printer's. The HP driver/program itself may be in a phase where it's attempting to complete a scan, which would prevent you from scanning anything else. You can confirm whether or not this is the problem by restarting your computer and attempting another scan. You'll get an error message saying the scanner is currently in use. You may want to try to completely remove the installation files for the scanner, and reinstall either from the disk or let windows install it for you via "plug and play". Then update the drivers from hp's website. See if that resolves your problem.

Scanner 3770 hardware problem


Hi, it is possible that your scanner has a transport locking lever or knob underneath which might have been keeping the carriage locked in place. Try checking and release if there is one. Hope this works for you. Pls post again how things turn up. Good luck and kind regards.
