Question about RCA E13320 13" TV
32 RCA Entertainment Series TV started to make little tiny ticking sounds and the screen would flicker real quick each time, then shorty after that it began to make loud popping cracking sounds from the back and the screen would flicker big time and the TV would shut off and the popping would continue for a little while, turn it back on and the big popping sounds again.etc. Took back off (outside) and plug TV in to look and you can see a big blue spark coming from a white plastic box with a metal bar on it, a large red wire comes from this thing up to the top of the TV and into the Tube part. Is this a DIY job or just toss the TV? Thanks
It needs a new FLY BACK transformer. That is what you are looking at. The origionals are not made for the set any longer but insist on having a generic on installed by a local TV shop. I just put one into a RCA 31" and it works nice. Don't throw away the TV. Get it fixed. MAKE SURE YOU INSIST THEY USE THE GENERIC ONE! THEY DO WORK!
