How to get unit to play without remote

You can probably use the front panel buttons (STOP PLAY OPEN/CLOSE etc) manually, the only thing you cannot do without the remote is access certain DVD menus, including subtitles/language/special features etc. You can always obtain and use a universal remote for basic menu functions later on if necessary.

To play a DVD movie without the remote, simply load your preferred disc, wait for the player to finish reading its contents, then to skip copyright warnings and/or the 'play movie' menu screen, press STOP, then PLAY, or simply press PLAY button where 'play movie' (or whatever function) is highlighted in the menu. These buttons should be on the front of the main unit. Doing this should encourage the player to detect the appropriate title (the movie) and play it (basic playback operation may not be possible with some DVD releases due to the numerous interactive menus and title pages, such as film trailers).

If basic manual operation is not completely possible with some DVD titles, consider a universal remote for your player if you have either lost your original, or the player was purchased/received without one. Such remotes are relatively inexpensive to purchase, and are available just about everywhere.

It won't play dvd's in color

Please check the type of disc that you're playing.

Generally, if the NTSC format disc being played in PAL Player or vice versa will cause this issue. Please use the NTSC format disc in NTSC player and PAl disc in PAL player.

Please check if the Player is connected to the display device with the correct cables and to the correct jacks.

Please make sure to connect the Component OUT (Red, Blue, Green cables) to the Component IN (Red, Blue, Green).

If you are using the Compiste connection (Yellow, Red and White), please connect the Video OUT of the Player to the Composite or Video IN on the TV using the Yellow cable and Red and white for audio according to the color codings.

Please try with different jacks on the TV to confirm if the issue is with the Jacks on the TV.

Please try power resetting the TV and check if that helps.

Turn off the Player.
Unplug the Player power cord from the electrical outlet.
Let the Player remain without power for 60 seconds.
Plug the power cord back into the electrical outlet.
If the issue is still unresolved, the Player needs to be Serviced at the Authorized Service Center.

Denon AVR-2309C1 will not play sound through

Turn off zone 2 then turn your receiver on the main zone on Radio, tune in a station and check for audio. Post a comment and let me know if audio works that way. If you don't have any audio, list your other equipment makes and models as well as how they are interconnected to your receiver (cable type) and I will help you troubleshoot

Display doesn't work on TEAC PD H300mkIII

I had the same issue today. I found that opening the unit you can see that there is a white ribbon cable connecting the head unit to the main board. removing this cable and re-inserting it the connector fixed the problem. The display now works again...hope this helps

Dual portable dvd player second screen not working

Sounds like it may be a bad linking cable or connection. Make sure you have cables inserted firmly and correctly. If possible, hook main unit to TV to be sure you are getting proper Video/Audio output.

Black 80gb ipod Video

Try resetting it. Hold down the Menu and middle button at the same time until the screen gets dark.
If that doesnt work, Restore it. Plug it into the computer and click "restore" when it pops up in itunes. Please note that this will erase all data on the device.

Sc-HT80 Problem

Hi one solution to your probelom is that the lazer is underpowered.here is a fix it 4 u. A major problem began 2 years ago Some New DVDs would not always play. Message on LED display says "NO PLAY". I discovered today that the problem lies with the laser being underpowered for some DVDs. On the web I found a fix. Warning! Always have someone competent with electricity to fix the SA-HT80 with the following instructions: 1. Remove all disks from player. 2. When door is open slide front door cover upwards to remove. 3. Leave door open. 4. Important UNPLUG FROM THE MAINS! 5. Remove the 3 screws from under the front panel then remove cover screws. 6. Disconnect player from the mains. Remove cover. 7. Once you have removed the cover you will see on left side is the drive parts. 8. Pull out the two flat cables which go to the Drive from the vertical circuit Board(Hold the cable with thumb and forefinger close to the connector and slide the flat cables out of their connector. 9. Remove the screws fixing the drive unit to the base of the cabinet. 10. Now remove drive unit. 11. Placing the drive upright on a flat surface proceed to remove the two screws holding the Plastic bridge that sits over the disk. 12. Also undo the screw on the small circuit board which holds the disk sensor switch onto the bridge and unclip that small board. Remove this plastic bridge over the drive. 13. On underside of drive remove the two small screws from the drive circuit board. You can now gently prize this board loose.(There is some resistance as a plastic clasp is holing onto the underside.) 14. Turn Drive back to upright position. 15. Remove the screws which hold the drive in(Screws go through rubber mounts to cushion the drive). 16. Once you have loosened the drive look at the underside and you will see one flat cable goes to the Laser. Where this cable meets the metal part you will see a tiny device connected on the outside edge of the flat cable. 17. Turn the POT 1/5 off a turn clockwise(looks like a small washer and be gentle with it) I used pointed nose pliers for this. 18. Now reassemble DVD player. 19. Ensure cover is in place and screwed down before connecting to a power supply. This is a guide which you will follow at your own risk. Happy fixing Gerald
