SOURCE: Kenmore 80 series dryer stoping after running for 10 to 15 minute

Start any cycle. Dryer runs for 10 to 15 minutes, then stops before cycle is complete. Start again, stops again in 10 to 15 minutes.

SOURCE: dryer runs for ten minutes then stops

If it's electric and the discharge hose is plugged with lint, a thermal switch will shut it down when it reaches a preset temp. (that's too hot). Also check for lint in the discharge pipe of the dryer. It is possible that the switch is bad. It will be marked at the temp. it shuts down at. Connect switch to an ohm meter, put it in the oven (but not the meter) and make sure it's opening at the proper temp. If the switch is opening at too low of a temp. replace the switch. Bob Taylor

SOURCE: dryer runs then stops after short periods (5-10 mins)

THere maybe a thermal limit sensor gone bad. Keeps the dryer from over-heating. Located behind rear panel on most and mounted on the heat tube. Verify with volt/ohm meter if possible

Dryer stops

If the hum is loud I would suspect something is jammed and the motor is stopped leading to a heavy current running through the motor. After 5 or 10 minutes I would anticipate the circuit breaker would trip or the motor would burn up. If the humming suddenly stops then a thermal overload switch might be activating and when it cools down normal operation resumes. This is my only insight.

Just moved into a house in Singapore with a Hoover D6786 dryer. It starts up and spins but repeatedly stops spinning after only 5-7 minutes. Clothes will not dry. What's up? Thanks for any help.

This is normally the sign that the electric motor start/run capacitor has gone faulty: the special motor start/run capacitor, usually around 4 to 10 uF / 450v, helps the motor during the stop/start sequences which require higher torques.

Goes on works about 10 minutes. stop.try to turn

Problem is the motor is going bad. Sometimes the motor can almost cost as much as a new dryer. An excellent little dryer that will last and work ghood for you is Roper, made by whirlpool. Any Lowes store has these. Hope this helps.
