Re: internet

You may need to check your WIFI security Key. When setting up Wifi, and security is on at the router, you will need a Passphrase or Key to get in. If that is not it, try resetting the router by turning it off then back on.

With the strong flux of up and down time that the PSN is going through right now, it might not be you, it might be them. Try and find the status of the PSN to make sure that it isn't you.

I try to log on my wirless internet and it accept it then it says communication with the server failed. a DNS error has occurred (80410418) can u pleaz help me?

DNS ERROR Can be caused by two problems

1 ) Your internet connection
2 ) Firewall issue

1) If there is a Computer that has internet then the connection is fine

2) Firewall

You will have to disable the firewall in your router

then Enable the Playstation in DMZ

And make sure the UPnP is enabled

Hello i have a problem whith my playstation3 i canot download the new ubdate and i get one error 80710723 what can i do ;

SETTINGS > NETWORK SETTINGS > INERNET CONNECTION SETTINGS > WIRED CONNECTION OR WIRELESS > WIRED CONNECTION > CUSTOM > MANUAL SETTINGS > AUTO DETECT > AUTOMATIC > DO NOT SET > MANUAL ( DNS1 : , DNS2 : ) > AUTO > DO NOT USE > ENABLE > X > X WIRELESS > ENTER MANUALLY > ( ENTER SSID OR CONTINUE ) > ( CHOOSE SECURITY OR CONTINUE ) > CUSTOM > AUTO > DO NOT SET > MANUAL ( DNS1 : , DNS2 : ) > AUTO > DO NOT USE > ENABLE > X > X I thought I should clarify my experience one last time in hopes that it may help someone. I was able to connect fine for a month before the 1.50 update and then things got really wierd. I have gone through entire days unable to connect to the network and entire days able to connect. Meanwhile I had full use of the PS3 internet browser and no other computer or internet issues. I can currently confirm that if I return my PS3 internet settings the original "automatic" settings I will not be able to connect, with these DNS settings in the PS3 I have no problems. I have cable internet access through Adelphia with a Linksys WRT54GS router communicating wirelessly with my PS3... GOOD LUCK!
The information I used to create this fix contained a link that has provided us with router specific DNS information to be used if the numbers provided do not work.
Now, a day later, I am able to connect with the original automatic settings for everything including DNS. I must also point out that the network performance is much faster using the automatic settings and recommend using alternate DNS settings only when neccessary.

I have a PS3 120GB. Recently installed Hi-Def and wireless in home. The wireless router is not in same room with PS3. Is there a device I can add to the PS3 to enable the wireless features, or does it have...

there is already a built in wireless device for the internet. id say its not working because you need to put your I.P adress, subnet mask, router and DNS numbers into playstation. go to settings on ps3. then network settings. manually install all these numbers. you should be able to get them off your laptop or computer when its connected to the internet. if you cant ring your internet provider to grt them.

DNS error

you can get the dns setting by connecting a computor to the broadband the steps are
  1. goto 'start'
  2. goto 'run'
  3. type 'cmd.exe'
  4. in the commmand prompt type 'ipconfig' , it gives all the details about your broadband.
DNS error generaly means that there is nothing wrong with your system but ther must be a problem with your internet provider..

Settings - Network Settings - internet connection settings - custom - wired or wireless depending on your internet - manual settings - IP address manual - enter your ip address and your router address and change your dns primary and secondry this will enable you to go online as for the error code 80710092 i have no idea, im experiancing the same problem. its so frustrating. as soon as i find the answer i will let you know.
