I have the same problem and tried the solution presented including replacing the air lock and cleaning all the pipes all the way to the main sewer line. No blockages, and the sinks drain fine when I fill them up and pull the plug. In the solution, the pump was mentioned, did you end up replacing it or did the cleaning fix your problem?

Check all your pipes under your sink to the outside grate for blockages, water does come out at some force, the pump would be faulty if it didn't, if its just volume of water, locate the outlet into another pipe further down the drain away from the sink, hope i have helped if so rate me please

I have an LG LDF7932ST Dishwasher and the dishes are not cleaning, especially on the top Rack. I did some troubleshooting and here are the results:

The unit has what is called a 3-way valve and is operated by a solenoid, depending on the age of the unit LG can let you know the part number for you to order this valve.

I am assuming by 'top of the sink' you mean the overflow drain as opposed to the regular drain in the bottom of the sink.
It should go into the same drain somewhere under the sink but a picture might help see whats going on?

Most dishwashers drain into your disposal. If your disposal has stuff in it it doesn't drain very fast so it backs up into the vent.

Dishwasher won't drain or seems to drain to other diswasher.

possible blockage at sink pipe where the drain hose connects to. the drain hose is attached to the spout on the pipe. remove the clip holding the drain hose to the spout, remove drain hose gently, put drain hose into a bucket and then turn unit on to a cycle. it should start draining straight away.if it does drain into bucket u have a blockage in the spout. put a small screwdriver into spout to unblock . then put drain hose back onto spout with clip and run a cycle. before i forget when and if the water starts draining into the bucket turn off the unit so u can put the drain hose back on. if u need more help please reply. good luck.

Dishwsher wont drain. never happened before. do not use dishwasher very often.

I would first check where the drain hose from the dishwasher connects to the drain stub under the sink. Remove the hose from under the sink and place it into a bucket. Close the dishwasher door and cancel the cycle to put the dishwasher in a drain cycle. Listen for the drain pump to activate. If water comes out of the hose check the stub where the hose connects under the sink with a screw driver to make sure the spout is clear of debris. If no water comes out of the hose, empty the dishwasher by hand using a plastic cup and when empty remove the hose at the pump under the dishwasher and check to see if there is any debris at this point. Make sure hose is clear from the dishwasher pump to the drain stub under the sink. You will need to place a towel or two on the floor as water left in the bottom of the dishwasher will come out when you remove the hoses. If still no water comes out you may have to disassemble the bump assembly. Not knowing what make and model you have I can't help you past this point.
I hope this is of some help.

Dishwasher will drain only some of the water---help

several possibilities...
1. could be "short cycling" during the drain cycle
2. could be food or waste buildup in the strainer in the bottom of the unit not allowing water to filter down quick enough
3. could be a bad pump running at abnormal speed
4. could be a blockage in the drain hose niot allowing all the water to get pumped out.
5. you have no air-gap installed which means the drain hose it tapped directly into your sink drain insted of thru an air inlet that you can see atop your sink usually where the sprayer would sit but looks like a chrome cap with a hole in the side

Hard to tell which might be the problem unless your willing to get under your sink and unit and investigate things by disassebling the hoses, etc.

Water in the dishwasher after the the cycle is complete

Two things to consider....clean water or dirty water?
Clean water usually indicates the fill valve is not shutting off all the way and the fill valve is "weeping" water in all the time = new fill valve time!!
Dirty water usually is not a dishwasher problem but more of a plumbing issue. Often the sink drain that carries the sinks water outside is not fast enough and some of this sink water is backing up into the drain hose and filling up the dishwasher through the drain hose. The drain from the sink to outside needs attention as this type of a problem indicates a slow house drain for that sink.
The dishwasher drain line should be clamped to the top underneath part of the counter before entering the sink drain plumbing, this may help the water from coming back inside the dishwasher.
