You have to set one of the DVD as Master end the other as Slave if they share the same ribbon connector. Do this simple test: let only one of the DVD connected. If the PC "sees" this one, then the card is OK. If need more instructions, just post a comment.

I having lg dvd drive, how to connect to mother board, but the edi i cable is not suited

Hi,
As far as I understand you have an older PC with IDE slots only and your LG DVD drives have the SATA(serial ATA) connections.
You can purchase a PCI SATA controller card as shown in the diagram below. Simply plug it into a PCI slot in your motherboard and plug your DVD drive into the SATA card.

Does the mother board Asrock 845GV (P4I45GV) support pci sata card

If you are trying to install Windows XP then -
The problem is that XPinstallation CD does not have a SATA driver, unless you have a SATA drive on adisk etc. and can install the driver when XP asks for a hard drive driver then,XP cannot detect the hard disk and therefore won't install XP.The FIX.Go into the BIOS anddisable the SATA drive (enable IDE emulation), this will make XP think it is aIDE/PATA hard disk. Then you can install XP normally. When Windows hasbeen installed then install all the device drivers (including the SATA driver),then shut down and boot up and got into the BIOS and enable the SATA drive.http://www.fixya.com/support/r4335035-installing_windows_xp_sata_hard_drive

Sata power supply with ide only mother board?

If all the motherboard has is IDE connectors, then you can with an add in card. To do this you need to run the installation floppy during a fresh windows installation when it prompts for 3rd party scsi or raid drivers. I'd take the easy road & install a slave drive on the IDE or run an external hard drive in a usb port. Or the ultimate option, build a system using a board with sata on it. Prices are way down on hardware in general, but it's not going to stay that way.

New sata harddisk not detected

The mother boards from that time you had to install the RAID drivers to use SATA drives. The drive disc which came with the mother board should have the drive, but I would suggest going to ASUS's web site and download the latest drivers. Click the link below, Select which OS (Operating System) you are using, Next click the little + box next to "IDE" and the drivers needed will be listed.

Connect ide or sata drives to a dell poweredge 2600 for additional storage

Yes and No..

The standard machine only allows SCSI, (no IDE or SATA or SAS connectors...

However SCSI drives are not cheap.. so

To overcome the power issue (you will notice there are no 4 pin molex connectors, or sata power connectors). However there is a 4 pin molex socket on the SCSI backplane. You can use one of those molex adaptor cables (one connector to many) to get power, from the molex you can use a 4 pin to SATA power connector.

Next step is to decide the drive you want to use. I personally use SCSI, SATA, SAS and IDE in mine (overkill I know).

Cheapness says use IDE or SATA. You can get a pci IDE/SATA controller card on ebay dirt cheap (PCI cards are compatible with the large PCIX slots), they dont take the entire "socket" up but they work (be carefull here, there is one 5v pci socket on these machines, and 6 pcix sockets, the pcix sockets will accept 3.3v pci cards (look at the notches).

Next you have to mount them, with a bit of jiggery pokery you can feed the IDE/SATA cables past the SCSI backplane into the hot swap bay. (If you dont have any empty caddy's pick them up off ebay), just remember you cant just pull em out like you can with the SCSI's!) - or use one of the 5 1/2 media bays.

Plud the other ends into the appropriate controller card (as installed in the PCI bus).

Load up the OS, install drivers (if needed - these should come with the pci card(s), use the disk manager to initialise/first format the drives etc.

All done.

I have done this myself running a 2600, with 2X U320 72gb SCSI (on Raid) 1 x IDE CD/DVDRW in Media bay, DAT 27 SCSI (channel B) in the second media bay. 2x 146gb SAS on a DELL SAS pcix card (in 2 of the hot swap bays) and an old 160gb IDE HDD (Funilly enough theres a bit towards the back of the two fans on the SCSI backplane that if you press the 3 1/2 drive against seems to fit perfectly in this place and stay there! (I think thats fluke to be honest).

All done :)

I bought a western digital i tb hard drive and it won't work with my asus a8ne motherboard. i bought a pci adaptor card .what driver configuration of drivers do i need to install to go from ide to sata?

So you had an IDE before and you want to install a Sata drive?
Did you go into the Bios and change the drive settings there? Make sure you have enabled sata disks(pg 62 of pdf 2.3).
Have you updated the BIOS?
Is this a new install or are you cloning the drive to this larger one?
If this is not a fresh install then have you tried updating the chipset drivers of the machine?
Have you tried all sata slots and made sure that you have a good cable? Is the cable securely installed? I had a bad cable that was loose once and a new one solved the problem.
It is possible that it is an issue with the board itself if you have done all the above. Have you made sure it is not the drive itself. It is rare but I have had a couple of duds in my nine years.
If you are adding a pci expansion card for sata then you would install using the drivers it came with.
Here is the manual for your motherboard:

Can't connect SATA Hard Drive to MSI PT8 Neo-V Mother Board

You tell where in the System or in the BIOS. In BIOS on the SATA Mode or RAID Mode while in the System you install RAID Software to recognize and detect any SATA or RAID Hardware.
Good luck!

Sata drive not recognized at boot up

I HAVE UPLOADED THE MANUAL HERE, IF YOU DON'T WANT TO WAIT THEN GET INTO YOUR BIOS BY DOING A HARD BOOT AND HITTING THE DELETE BUTTON ON START-UP.IF THE MOTHERBOARD SUPPORTS SATA , TO WHICH I FOUND NO CONFIRMATION , YOU CAN CHANGE IT BY GOING INTO THE ADVANCED SETUP PAGE AND CHANGE THE FIRST BOOT DEVICE TO SATA RATHER THAN IDE. YOU WILL ALSO WANT TO CHECK THE PCI SETTINGS AS WELL FOR YOUR CONTRLOLLER CARD ....GOOD LUCK

RUNNING A SATA HDD ON AN IDE ONLY MOTHERBOARD

If I am not completely mistaken you have to reinstall the OS on the SATA drive on IDE. That is because the first installation was configured for connection on a SATA /PCI then now on the SATA/IDE port converter.
