New or used motor for a Craftsman 10" table saw

I need a new or used motor for a Craftsman table saw. The motor has the number RM871 on it. It is a 15 amp, 5000 rpm motor. Sears wants $141 for a replacement motor and I only paid $150 for the saw new.

ARE YOU SURE THE MOTOR IS BAD, OR COULD IT BE SEIZED ? IF ITS SEIZED THE BEARINGS ARE REPLACEABLE BUT SEARS HAS THE BEARING ON THEIR WEB SITE BUT ITS THE WRONG SIZE. TRY LOCAL ELETRICAL REPAIR HOUSE, THEY USUALLY GIVE ESTIMATE ON REPAIR

You can try Sears but they can be a bit pricey. I use to send out motors for a factory I worked in to a rebuilder who would even do new windings. Check in your area for a rebuilder, As for the replacement being a Sears unit they may have a similar motor in stock. Good luck.

Use the first part of the model number to fid who the manufacture of the saw/ motor is. Example: 110.123456- 110 is Whilpool. Then cal the manufacture direct. Also sometimes Grainger has direct replacements.

You can find your Craftsmen Table Saw on the internet at http://www.searspartsdirect.com/partsdirect/brands-products/Craftsman-Parts/Saw-Parts?Type=Table saw.
Find your model number on your saw, and you should be able to locate the parts you need.

I have a Craftsman 10" table saw, probably at least 50 years old. The motor is dying, model number 113-12070. Where can I get this motor repaired or replaced?

I would go to the nearest electrical company and they will match it up for you.(yellow pages. Probably a ? to ½ hp, so should be reasonable for pricing. You could have it rewound, but would near the same price for new motor. good luck

Need a new motor part # 63870 for a 10-inch sears radial saw

There may be a recall on this model.

If not, take the motor out and take it to a shop that does repairs on electric motors, probably be fixed for much less than the cost of a new motor from Sears ($200-$300).

I have recently replaced my 29 year old craftsman 10" table saw with a new switch. In trying to turn it on, the motor hummed, slightly oscilated and tripped out the wall breaker. I checked the Sears parts...

You may find a replacement motor on ebay. I deal in Craftsman Belt drive table saws, yours looks to be a direct drive. Sorry I wouldn't be much help with those, Jim

Motor base needed for 10" table saw

My 10" Craftsman saw started life with a 1 hp motor. I'm on number 3 motor which is 1 1/2 or 2 hp. 1 hp seems to weak. The pulley diameter is about 2". The motor needs to rotate as the blade is moved from vertical. Mine is mounted to back of the blade arbor. The mounts needs to be adjustable for adjusting tension to the belt. McMaster Carr would have the start of a motor and base.
