Insert the CD into your computer. The Setup Assistant will automatically appear on your computer’s screen within 15 seconds. Click on “Go” to run the Setup Assistant. Follow the instructions there.
Check the lights if its not stable reset it..
belkin routers are compatible with all ISPs.... all that it requires is an ethernet cable that should come from ISP, either directly or through modem...
so if your virgin connection gives you an ethernet port in their modem, you can configure the belkin router accordingly...
If you can access the configuration page of your belkin router you have to copy the MAC address of your computer to the router. The router has the capability to clone the MAC address. It's because if you have a cable internet connection the MAC address is registered in the server.
you still have to use the modem from virgin, mine is setup the same but with a different router, you have the virgin rounter connected to the wireless router then the belkin wireless rounter connectes to you pc instead of the virgin router, your gonna have to log onto the router and setup some security to make the connection safe from others using it.
If you are connected straight from the modem, your router will not have internet access, only if your modem is connected to the router you will be able to go online wireless. connect your modem to the router nad router to the desktop, so that you can access both wired and wireless connection
Make sure the wireless adapter is enabled on the elonex laptop and its properly installed.
Connect wirelessly on the elonex one laptop using the same SSID and security key that you used on your main laptop.
Theoretically, it should work with each other. I didn't find any documentation at Belkin's site that states the N1 USB adapter being not compatible with 3rd party devices like your Netgear router.
From what I know is N-Draft's wireless technology should be backwards compatible with both wireless-B and wireless-G devices.
1. Do you have other working wireless devices at your network during that time that you have the N1 USB adapter?
2. Were you able to connect to your wireless network? If Yes, what was your IP address at the wireless computer incase you had the chance to check it?
Maybe you can try to inquire with Belkin about what you've encountered with their device for clarification.
I have a feeling I might be able to find the router setup information if you can tell me the correct answer to the prompts needing answered by this link
The model number of the Belkin router may be of interest if detailed configuration instructions are required and because there is the a report of an issue with a specific belkin router model on the Virgin Media site that appears to require a firmware update to work well with that particular internet service.
The first step to try is to reboot both the router and the cable/DSL modem.
Turn off your computer, and unplug the router and the modem from the mains. Wait one full minute, then plug the modem back in. Wait until the lights stop blinking (until it indicates a steady connection). Once that is complete, plug the router back in, and wait until it also stops blinking. Once the router and modem are both back on, then turn your computer back on and check to see if you have a connection.
If that doesn't work, then take the router out of the picture -- plug a computer directly into the ethernet port on the modem. You should definitely have an Internet connection at that point. If it works, the problem is in the router. If it doesn't, you'll need to call Virgin Media's help desk for assistance.
