On some emachines you can hold down the F10 or F11 key on the BIOS splash screen that will take you to the recovery partition. Just follow the prompts and it will completely reload all the factory settings on the computer.

Actually called a 'Reformat'. You need the disks that came with it, or you need to make sure you have a Restore Partition on the hard drive with the OS on it.

I can't connect to the internet with my dell latitude d620 will factory reset fix this problem?

No. Factory reset wipes all settings and will require you to enter them again to get connected. You're better off using the help function in the Network Wizard to troubleshoot the problem step by step. If it's a windows machine it might be able to repair itself through this process.

I cant find out how to set my dell latitude d620 back to factory setting

Restoring to factory defaults entails reinstalling the default disk image that shipped with the laptop.
If you still have a (hidden) recovery partition then you can read the computer manual to find out which key sequence to press at boot to initiate the recovery procedure. If you do not know if the partition still exists, initiate the recovery anyway. If partition is corrupt or missing you will know.
If your computer shipped with recovery media (disks, usb,) use them to reinstall.
Failing the above, contact Dell for a recovery disk set. It may not be free. You can always save the computer from oblivion by using a Linux distribution. Ubuntu for example.

How can i reset the whole computer to factory setting an still have operating system got computer used an it is really slow an has no antivirvis is there a good free one

You can try rolling back the computer to last known good configuration. Repeatenly press F8 on startup, before the machine starts windows. Choose 'last known good configuration' from options screen. You can also try using a registry cleaner http://download.cnet.com/Advanced-SystemCare-Free/3000-2086_4-10407614.html to optimise your system.
For antivirus, google: AVG free or microsoft security essentials.
To return the system to factory defaults, you will need a windows installation disc, to format the hard drive and install a new copy of windows. You can download an image to burn to CD here: http://neosmart.net/blog/2008/windows-vista-recovery-disc-download/ You will also need the certificate of authenticity number, which should be on the bottom of the machine. Make sure you can read this before starting a fresh install.

How to restore my D620 to factory settings without a CD?

Hello there!

Well its impossible to restore any of todays laptops without their factory os dvd/cd. You could setup new operative system and make your laptop simmilar to what it was on factory settings, or you can search dell to send you that same cd/dvd on your post mail to your house.

I suggest you read http://www.dell.com/ and contact them in order to solve your problem. Hope i helped you! =)

Sincerely

How do i restore to factory settings without disk?

I assume you mean factory installation. You need the disks. Unless there is a recovery partition, unlikely on this model. Alternatively you could find an oem windows xp home or professional depending on what coa sticker is on the laptop and install that.

Dell latitude d620 needs factory restore

Apparently your model of laptop doesn't have a recovery partition. You're going to have to get out the Dell Operating System CD for your laptop, boot to the CD and reinstall Windows the old fashioned way. Make sure the product key on the laptop case is handy.
