Hi I'm trying to make accents for my spanish class. It won't let me do the spanish things such as upside down question marks or exclamation points or even accents on letters. can you help me...

It is probably not your keyboard.
Look at your fonts.
There are fonts for everything from greek to chinese.
Make sure you are able to use a font with the spanish
stress marks.

I am trying to find a way to make accents in the French laguage and cannot find a way to do this on my acer aspire 5920. Can you help

Difficult on a laptop. This is because the numeric keys are part of the main keyboard. There is a USB numeric pad available but no guarantees .

Normally on conventional keyboard ñ would be a combination of ALT0241 but on the laptop this will noyt work. Some special characters can be achieved by ALT FN JII ( hitting the i up to 8 times a separate character is made. also jiim etc try a few for yourself ( mainly r side of keyboard characters.

Now to solve your problem the only way I can see is to download the extended keyboard program hat is free select the characters copy and paste

Hope that is of help

Please rate my help++++Thanks for using FIXYA

When i type an apostrophe or a questions mark i am getting an e with an accent

You will need to set the keyboard layout to us.

You will need to do this in the
the Regional and Language settings.

Go the control panel > Regional and Language Settings > go through all the tabs including the keyboard and location settings and change everything to "United States - English"

My keyboard keeps switching when i try to put quotation marks or question marks

Depending on the operating system, windows i presume then you need to set the correct input language for the keyboard. Text services and input language settings. Go to the control panel and select Region and Ianguage. From there you should be able to determine which particular input language corresponds with your keyboard. For more help send more info about your computer ok. Hope this helps.

I do not obtain to type accents

This probably has more to do with the settings in the computer than directly with the keyboard.

Assuming you're running Windows, you need to make sure you have your language settings right.

The machine I'm using here is running XP Home - on that, I do Start_Settings_Control Panel, then I open "Regional & Language Options", then select my own language there.

To get accents, you may have to do combinations of keypresses - look up "accents" or "international characters" in the help file for your word processor software for ideas. (For instance, in Word, to get a grave accent, you need to do <ctrl>+` before you type the letter you want accented).
