Question about XFX GeForce 6200 Graphic Card

Is my pc fixable?

I live in the UK and bought a pc(hp media pavilion center)in Canada.I plugged the pc in and due to the fact that there we have a different voltage caused the Tower to smoke.
I originally assumed it might be a fuse problem. But i consequently have found out that there is only a fuse in the power supply.
My question is:Is my tower now toast and do i need to replace the whole thing or is there some way of fixing it?

Hi!

The might be so that you toasted the whole pc, but i think you toasted the PSU. If you have another psu you can try to change it and see if the pc starts, or if you can borrow one from a friend. If it dosent starts then your motherboard is toasted to.
But i bellive that its only the psu.

Good luck
Nic

Wired or Wirelessly? Or both? plug in a Ethernet cable or open the Network Icon in the Tray Notification Area and select your SSID, connect. Take a look at HP Support: http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/product?cc=us&lc=en&dlc=en&product=3548185

I need some type of system recover because my comp keeps starting in the blue screen and not getting to the desktop. this is due to my removing some things from the start up menu in the control panel

You need to reinstall Windows and for that all you need is the Recovery disk that came with your pc when you bought it. Beware , save your files with the help of a Linux Live-CD before doing that or they're going to be wiped.

From Control Panel, click System, Device Manager, click + beside DVD Drive, right click you drive and select properties, DVD Region Tab, and change Region to Canada. You can only chnage this 5 times until it locks on the last change. Look into a program called AnyDVD as it will play Region Free.
