What exactly is the problem? does it shut down immediately after booting? if it does so and gives wither a blue screen on just reboots again, then try accesing the bios settings and try changing the sata mode to either IDE or AHCI. then see what happens after saving changes and rebooting again. otherwise clarify your problem so as to make it easy to help you out.

My kids are playing fishville or farmville and my laptop just shotdown. they opened it again and after 20mins. or so ... it shutdown again

It probably is overheating, and then automatically shutting-down, to prevent any damage.

Take it to a qualified technician, to check that its fan(s) are working, and to clean-out any dust inside the computer that is acting as a layer of insulation, preventing the heat from being expelled by the fans.

Laptop cursor not registering when pressed When the laptop is turned on,the cursor does not appear and nothing registers when I try to move the cursor around the screen to select something.

Ok on keyboard, press WINDOWS logo see start page comes up. using keypads arrow keys, access the control panel, find mouse, if you are using vista, set classic view. you may get around by tab key and up>down>rigth>left arrow keys.
Install driver again or use update \. come back start and shot down the computer by shotdown arrow, do not use brown button will not shotdown, it is stanby (On vista). Then turn on again see what you see>
If can not, Just use same system and reach out the system tools from accessories>system tools>Make defragmentation.
No result > make system restore. No result see tech.

Acer extensa will not boot to windows

What is happening when you press the power Button? Do you see any ligths, Any HDD moves? IF DOES.

TURN OFF by pressing and holding your finger on power button.
wait 60 sec. turn on and repeatedly press several times at F8 button.
If page opens on black and white, Use SAFE MODE.
wait til all line down. Then you will see windows opening in safe mode.
WHat ever you install last, remove, scan your computer for virus, spyware. when its finished, check your computer if need defragmentation. by Accessories>System Tools> Defragment.
If message comes such as windows will do this at schedule time or so.
Just turn off your computer using shotdown option (NOT BROWN BUTTON ON START) go to next arrow.
then turn on again see if windows comes back.

MY SYSTEM BOOT BUT RUNNIG IT WILL SHOTDOWN. WHAT

sounds like the CPU is overheating. if you feel comfortable open the case and replacing the thermal paste between the processor and the heat sink might do the the job. A tube of thermal past is inexpensive and you jsut need to use a small dab to get the job done.
