Question about Uniden EXA15580 Cordless Telephone

Telephone noise About a year ago I added DSL to my phone bill. This is the dsl that uses a signal off of the phone line but you can use the internet and phone at the same time. Daily I have phone noise. Sometimes there is no noise at all then other times a lot of funny noises. Telephone provider says it could be any number of things causeing this. I have filters on all my phone jacks. I have replaced my telephone wiring from the telephone box to the inside of my house. Nothing seems to help. The noise is very interruptive at times when talking on the phone. I would welcome any advice anyone might have. THANK YOU I have the Dss7955+2 and it is constant static on the telephone line. As soon as I disconnect the broadband on the same line, the static disappears. This didn't happen on an earlier model Uniden that was connected to exactly the same line. It's driving me crazy!

Possible reasons for static noise caused by broadband are:

  • Broadband filter.
  • Faulty router.
  • Faulty phone extension if present.
To start replace the broadband filter that is the small rectangular box connected to the phone line.

Here is an example of broadband filter:

If that does not work, test a different router/modem, if problem disappears with a different router or modem, and broadband filter had already been tested then the router or modem is faulty. Call the company and have it replaced.

If the light turns red then it says, there is a lot of noise on your telephone (dsl) line..
If there is a lot of noise, then the dsl will lose the connection and it will try to establish a connection again...

at this point you will lose your internet connectivity...

So i advice you to contact your ISP and ask them to change the telephone line from the junction box...
or ask them to check the amount of Noise in your DSL line...

Signal to Noise ratio (SNR) value on your DSL modem should be more than 40db for greater connectivity...
If it goes below 30db, you will face frequent disconnection and very slow internet...

The main causes of Hissing Noise on phone line

* Weather:
Precipitation can leak into phone lines and cause disruptions. Lightning, even at a distance, can damage the connection.
Checked the connections the cable and the Sockets
If you have the Test socket or the First Socket where the Telephone is is entering .. check the Connections there

* Electrical interference:
Check the Power lines,
Check radio or television transmitters, transformers and other electronic devices may causing noise on the phone line.

* Other phone devices:
Check for the Connection to the FAX check by unpluging the FAX Machine or answering machines,
Disconnect the other phones and line splitters --
Disconnect the Splitters or devices that allow two phones to fit on one phone jack -- can cause phone line noise.

* DSL services:
The high-frequency signals coming from DSL (digital subscriber line) devices sharing the phone line can create problems for other technology connected to the line.

***Note : high-frequency signals coming from DSL helps for FAST Internet Connection speed which sometime cause the problem to the Phone or Voice signals for this need to contact to ISP to check the Voice margin .. that may effect your internet Speed

You can try keeping the device near Heater .. it could be the Moisture which might causing this issue

Cannot receive phone calls on a dsl setup


There must be DSL Spliter inbetween telephone line & Wi-fi modem. Please check whether you have connected telephone instrument line with that Spliter or not. According to me, Telephone instrument should connect to telephone line option on DSL Splitter to use same telephone line as internet as well Telephone.

Constant static and noise on the cordless, have not had this problem with other phones in the same location. I have tried the frequency scan- no difference. The noise is so bad the cordless cannot be used.

Caller ID and Call Waiting ID are subscription services, available from most local telephone service providers. You must subscribe to these services in order for the features to work on your phone. Contact your local telephone service provider for more information.

In addition, your caller must be calling from an area that supports caller ID.

Both you and your caller’s telephone service provider must use compatible caller ID systems.

If you subscribe to DSL service for this telephone line, DSL filters must be plugged into EVERY phone jack that has a phone. The DSL signal can cause caller ID disruption, static, noise and other issues on your line. DSL filters block the high frequency DSL signals from being transmitted to the telephone. If you are not using the DSL filters provided by the telephone company, this will cause static/noise and possibly caller id issues on your phones.

In most cases, we recommend you connect the plug end of the DSL filter into the telephone jack, then connect a telephone cord between the filter and your phone.

Please contact your service provider to obtain DSL filters and installation information.

Caller ID and Call Waiting ID may not be available for every call. Common reasons are incompatibilities between your and your caller’s service, transmission errors and answering calls before the ID data is received.

Assistance with blinking light on my DSL modem


First thing to do is unplug your DSL modem and leave it unplugged for about a minute then plug it back in and see if problem is corrected. If not you should contact your ISP tech support. You could have a bad line from the phone company or bad connection in your house. Also if you have filters installed on your other phones you can have a bad filter that is causing interference and keeping yoiur DSL from working properly. You should go to "Start" > "Run" and type cmd and hit "Enter"
In the command window type ping google.com -t (Enter) This will start a continual ping. If you are getting ping times exceeding 70 - 120 ms that could be a sign your DSL is not functioning properly or if you get packet loss. That is when the ping time doesn't return a time periodically.

I've changed my internet providers and have gone from a cable internet svc to a dsl phone line provider. Now my computer fax machine says it is offline. Is there a setting that I need to change?


Most likely cause is you don't have a dsl filter on your fax line. Without the filter, your fax machine's modem can't discern between a dsl signal and a telephone signal Since the telephone line coming into the building is now carrying a dsl signal, a filter is necessary to receive/send faxes.

Telephone noise


ours has the same problem. We believe it is the sigal from the wireless router (do you have one of those?) and it is interfering with the signal from the telephone handset to the charger. I would recommend trying to switch channels on your telephone handset. Push the channel button until it becomes clear. Hope this helps.

No.

A cable-modem connects with a coax-cable to the cable-company's network, but a DSL-modem connects with telephone-cable to the telephone-company's network.
