ASKP 3110 - drain pump continuously running

I have an ASKO D3110 washing machine which has stalled with the drain pump continuously running. This occures when the main isolator button is off and can only be stopped by switching off the GPO. Any ideas?

If water gets onto the pan under the dishwasher, there is a styrofoam float that rises and hits a microswitch that causes the dishwasher to drain constantly so that you don't get a flood in your kitchen. Mine has done this when I splashed out water from a bowl that had overturned during the wash and was full of water and when I had some water deposits built up on the door seal that let water through. Sometimes the foat will hang up and I have to wiggle it around to get it to fall back down.

I had this problem. Solution was to remove the 3 filters at the bottom of the tub, wash them thoroughly and then stuff paper towels or dish rags into the hole until most of the water is drawn up. It doesn't have to be completely dry but as dry as you can make it without resorting to the painful process of removing the kick plate at the bottom (tricky screws and about an inch of space to work in), Anyway, once you have dried it thoroughly, replace the filters and turn it on. If you open the door and hold down the button on the left side of the inside of the door for several seconds, the computer will reset. Asko doesn't like you to use soap pellets. One to one and a half tablespoons of dishwashing detergent and the addition of products like Jet Dry is recommended. Should check the filters monthly to make certain they are not clogged. You can also clean the unit with white vinegar.

Motor wont start

Washer fills with water then drains:
The critical question is. Is the water is just running down the drain but the pump isn't running. If it is being pumped out, and you can hear the pump running just the same as when it's emptying prior to spin then it could be aborting the wash because it is, or it thinks it's overheating. ( due to defective water temperature switch)

If water isn't being pumped out, but just draining away all the time, the washer will keep detecting there isn't enough water inside and top up with more. Modern washing machines should be sophisticated enough to realize something's wrong and abort with an error, but if not, it may continue washing or rinsing for a short while before losing enough water to trigger more coming in again. It can get stuck on this cycle indefinitely and it's called siphoning.
Siphoning occurs when the end of the drain hose is lower than the level of the water inside the washing machine. Try raising the hose and see what happens.
Also the drain hose should have some type of air gap where it fits into the stand pipe. It should not have an air tight fit.
Other switch's to check would be the water inlet valve and the water pressure switch with a multi meter for continuity or OHMS.

Asko 6762 does not complete filling with water. It also wont complete spin cycles. The drain pump sometimes runs continually after the tub is empty. Have cleared the coin trap and the hose between the tub...

Sound like it could be some "dirt" in the "air-trap-tube", so the machine dont get the signals that says it's empty. This also can also make problems for filling. This "air-trap" is the plastic tube, mounted upwards on the bellow hose, between drum and pump.

Could also be a pressure switch, or pressure sensor problem, but this is not very common:)

L2 light is flashing on ASKO D3110 Dishwasher. What does this mean?

it means that water is in the base pan, can be caused by a leak or failed drain pump.

The washing machine stopped on the rinse (6) with an F-3. Now what do I do?

"F3" on Asko means the machine detected an interuption in the drain sequence. could be as simple as a coin or some other debris causing the fault, but it may be the pump is faulty as well. first things first.

**UNPLUG the unit from the dryer, or from the wall, which ever applies to your set-up**

in the lower left corner on the front of your washer is a "pin catcher/lint filter" for the pump (a pump insert asko calls it). unscrew this insert, clean out whatever is obstructing the pump and you should be fine to continue. unless the pump itself is at fault. **you will need to drain whatever water is in the unit into a drain, or pan thru the little drain line from the pump (refer to your manual if you have access to it).

hope that helps,

good luck

We have a code F3 on our asko washing machine

Most likely a drain pump problem. Make sure there is nothing in the drain hose. Then it would be a bad drain pump
