If you have changed this information and cant remember it, there is a reset button on the back of the router; push it in for about 20 seconds with the power on. This will reset the router to factory defaults and allow you to log in with the above information.
You have to enter the router's configuration page by typing 192.168.1.1 and you will get a log in page.
Default user name:admin Default password:
As soon as you are logged in, please go to the wireless tab. You're suppose to see the security key if not you may change it to a new one.
If default user name and password rejected and you don't remember setting up your login name and password, you have to reset the router. Get a paperclip or pin and press the reset pinhole on the back of the router. It's in red color. Press and hold it down for 5 seconds. Try this, type http://192.168.0.1 into your browser again and load the page up. When the box pops up asking for user name and password type in the user name box admin In the password box type password and see if you can log in.
If you still can't get in please post the make and model of the router.
You will need to log into the router's web page to view the security settings and access your security key. The default IP address of D-Link routers is normally 192.168.1.1; simply input this IP address into the address bar of your web browser.
You will be brought to a D-Link page and be prompted for your user name and password. If you have not made any changes then the default password should be admin. If you changed the user name and password simply enter them here.
You will need to click on the "setup" tab found at the top of the page. Now you will need to click on "setup wireless" or "Wireless settings" to access the manual configuration. Now you will be able to locate the security key.
If you are unable to locate any of these or you have changed the user name and/or password and no longer remember what they are, you will need to reset the router and set up your wireless network from scratch.
If you want to change the password to access the router you can open your browser and put in the address 192.168.1.1 (unless you changed it) and press enter.
You should be prompted for a user name and password. Leave the user name section blank and put in the password for the router. Once you have logged into the router successfully, you will see the Administration tab. Click on it and you will be able to change the router password. Save the changed and close the browser window when you are finished.
If you need to change the Wireless Internet password, you can click on the Wireless tab, go to Wireless security and change the passphrase there too.
I hope this helped. Thanks for using FixYa.com!!
Pressing the Reset button for 5 seconds restores the router to its original factory default settings.
