If you bought the computer as used then you definately need to do a system restore to put it in factory setting. Restart and hold down the F11 function key till you hear a beep. Then select system/factory restore and don't forget to backup your documents.

That does fix all your problem as you will become the sole administrator to make and change settings.

I cannot enable my wireless adapter.

go to start, control panel, network and internet, then double click your network adaptor (your wifi router) click properties, write down your I.P address given to you on screen. then open internet explorer, and type that I.P address into the search bar and press enter. you should now have access to the main router settings. it could be your routers wifi setting is turned off. just go through the menu and look for it, the menu depends on the router so i cant say which menu to go to, but its normally under advanced tab. dont change anything else unless your sure you know what your doing!!

I have a dir-615 router and it will not connect to the internet i have tried to reset it to factory default settings I've tried following the instructions on the website but i can't seem to get it to...

Jamax, its the Internet Service Providers (ISPs) who always provide clients with Internet Configuration settings which enables you to connect to their internet. Without such information, you can hardly connect to any internet, The settings consists of; the UserName, Password, DNS addresses among others. When you log onto your router, theres an application/system where you put all the required info to enable internet connection. If you dont have it, please get it fr your ISP and load it there.
Good luck!

I cant get through yahoo messenger im my pc, cant download it and i am now using ym through meebo, but i always get dis connected

Your system administrator blocked all connections concerning yahoo.

Ask a system Admin to open it up for you or just be contented with using meebo before they could found a way of blocking meebo too.

Norton software won't allow me to reach the internet

Are you logged in as an administrative user on the machine? If so, when you open up NIS2009, you should see three groups of controls. The middle group for Internet should have the a link for Settings next to it. Click on that. Enable the option for Automatic Program Control (might be on an Advanced Settings tab). This will let the firewall configure itself when a new program is run instead of asking the user. It normally gets the settings right. In the Program Control tab, select the programs that it is blocking that you want to allow and change the Access setting from Block to Allow or Auto.
