    Can you please provide the complete specification of your machine. Namely;

    1. Operating System (with service pack)

    2. Computer/laptop model.

    3. Video card. (External or onboard?)

    4. Motherboard model

    5. RAM (type and capacity).

    Last question is;

Did you do any recent changes like (new hardware added? RAM changed or increased? new software/drivers installed?)

Please answer this and i will be glad to serve you.

    Regards,

    Techno-Geek.

How do i unlock my windows xp

Windows XP includes a new Microsoft Natural Keyboard shortcut to lock your computer. Any other compatible keyboard that includes the Windows logo key and the Application key can also perform this task.To use this shortcut, press the Windows logo key+L. The following list has different computer lock-up scenarios that are available to you, as well as other ways to lock the computer: Fast User Switching Enabled loadTOCNode(2, 'moreinformation'); If the Fast User Switching feature is enabled and you lock the computer, you can observe the same behavior as if you switched users: The computer returns to the Welcome screen and other users can log on to the computer. Fast User Switching Disabled loadTOCNode(2, 'moreinformation'); If the Fast User Switching feature is disabled and you lock the computer, the Unlock Computer dialog box is displayed that requires the current logged-on user to enter a password to unlock the computer.

Whenever i switch on my system, it displays NTLDR MISSING PRESS CTRL+ALT+DEL... WHAT SHOULD I DO?

Hi,

NTLDR is a file which is kept in the windows directory in the sytem32 folder, and is basically the boot loader.

Most of these problems are caused by bad BIOS configurations but sometimes the files are just corrupt.

Try going into the BIOS and setting it to default configurations, save the changes and exit the BIOS. The computer will restart and hopefully boot into Windows.
If you still get the same error message then follow this instruction bellow:

  1. Insert a Windows XP bootable CD into the computer.
  2. When prompted to press any key to boot from the CD, press any key.
  3. Once in the Windows XP setup menu press the "R" key to repair Windows.
  4. Log into your Windows installation by pressing the "1" key and pressing enter.
  5. You will then be prompted for your administrator password, enter that password.
  6. Copy the below two files to the rootdirectory of the primary hard disk. In the below example we are copyingthese files from the CD-ROM drive letter, which in this case is "e."This letter may be different on your computer.

    copy e:i386tldr c:
    copy e:i386tdetect.com c:
Good luck and please post back if need anymore help.

Whenever I tried to install the program I get a message saying that the messenger has stopped working and needs to close. When I let windows find a solution it never does. I am using Vista Ultimate. I had...

Hi...
The first step you should try is to uninstall by going into (control panel > add remove program) the mesanger and download the windows messanger.
http://download.live.com/
and reinstall it.
If that doesn't work the windows have to be repaired, you should have the windows CD for that..
Configure your computer to start from the CD-ROM drive. For more information about how to do this, refer to your computer's documentation or contact your computer manufacturer. Then insert your Windows XP Setup CD, and restart your computer.
1.
When the Press any key to boot from CD message is displayed on your screen, press a key to start your computer from the Windows XP CD.
2.
Press ENTER when you see the message To setup Windows XP now, and then press ENTER displayed on the Welcome to Setup screen.
3.
Do not choose the option to press R to use the Recovery Console.
4.
In the Windows XP Licensing Agreement, press F8 to agree to the license agreement.
5.
Make sure that your current installation of Windows XP is selected in the box, and then press R to repair Windows XP.
6.
Follow the instructions on the screen to complete Setup.

Let me know
Thanks
Smith

Removing partial install of 2nd os

You should be able to do a SYSTEM RESTORE to a point before the XP Pro installation.

Start the machine and start tapping the F8 key until the boot menu is displayed. Use the arrow keys to highlight SAFE MODE and press enter. If you are given a menu to choose which Windows to boot into, choose the Home edition. Windows will load with the minimum drivers. Your screen display will be 640 X 480 and the icons will be large. You will eventually see a window advising you that you are in safe mode, click OK or NO. Click NO. That should open The System Restore function. Choose to restore the system to an earlier date. A calendar with be displayed. The BOLD dates are the ones that you can restore to. Choose a date that was before the date you tried to install XP Pro. Follow the prompts and the restore process will run and reboot your computer. Following the reboot, the installation will complete and Windows will open.

If you have installed a service packs or updates after the restore date you will need to install them again.

Good Luck! and please let me know how this works out for you.
