Question about Heating & Cooling

AC does not cool to the temp as desired

Hi, I am aware that the compressor automatically gets off when temperature reaches the desired one. But my AC compressor goes OFF very frequently resulting in heating up of the room. For example , say room temp is 32Deg and desired is set to 24 Deg. Now as the temp reaches around 29-30 Deg the compressor goes off. Resulting the room temp never reaches 24-25Deg. Thanks Sachin

Does the thermostat have a mercury bulb in it, if it does you need to level the thermostat.
When you take the cover off, on the sub base there should be a couple of marks or grooves
One on each side of thermostat, you need to take a level and loosen the screws on the sub base
And with the level completely level align those two marks with the level.
If you don’t have a mercury bulb, then your thermostat may need the heat anticipator adjusted, some you can adjust the bi-metal coil, but I haven’t done that, so I couldn‘t tell you how to do it, or you just have a bad thermostat.

Why is my AC compressor running when my temperature control is set to heat, fan control set to 2, AC control switch off and air flow control set for floor?

If you have an automatic climate system where you can set temp the the compressor will run at some of the middle settings. The system blends cold and warm air to obtain the desired temp setting. If it does not have automatic control you have another issue.

When the compressor is working it will be cooling the refrigerator to the desired set temperature, when the desired temperature is reached the compressor will stop, that is quite normal....it will come back on again when the set temperature drops......the more that you open the fridge, the more the compressor has to work as everytime the door is opened the temperature inside the fridge will go up.

My 93 pontiac grand am cooling fan won't turn on when the temperature reaches 220 degrees but if you unplug the coolant sensor the fan runs all the time, I've checked the relay and it is working fine what...

If the fans run when the sensor is unplugged there is nothing wrong with the relays. The computer automatically runs the fans when it recorded no info from the sensor to avoid overheating. The temp sensor is faulty. The ac compressor is not on the same circuit, it is not running because the sensor is unplugged and the computer is not able to determine coolant temp and disables the ac to avoid overheating.

Compressorruns fora short time

the thermostat controlling your unit likely has a window type of programming for digital or mechanical adjustment for older style thermostat that sets a minimum off temp and a maximum on temp, there may be an adjustment to set the range it operates at, otherwise you may have a defective thermostat controller unit and it needs replacing also insure that the temperature sensing element is clean and free of dust build-up and your filter is clean

AC turn off before it reaches the desired temp

Hi there. I assume the indoor fan runs continuously until the house has cooled down. Clean the condenser. (outside unit)
Another possibility is that the system is getting low on freon. Check for leaks with soapy water at all joints and fix them.
Thanks
Paul

Just brought used 94 cadillac deville ac works great but no heat

This is the the Cadillac Climate Control operates. When you press AUTO, the system will automatically maitain DESIRED temp . The A/C compressor will operate ALL THE TIME on AUTO. Don't want the a/c compressor to operate, PRESS " ECON". Air delivery will NOT be DE-HUMIFIED, nor will it cool, only warm,. Hope this helps.

Lg split indoor fan runs non stop

Hello Hamid,
The unit is designed to run the indoor fanmotors continuously when in cooling mode on both indoor units (evaporators). The reason is that this circulates the air and the temperature thermistor or sensor is able to sense return air temperature and in turn start or stop the outdoor unit and compressor as required according to the setpoint temperature. The reason for either unit not reaching setpoint temperature can be a couple of reasons. A) Incorrect design - the unit may be too small for the application. You can calculate this roughly at 650BTU per square meter of room in a relatively warm ambient climate. Or secondly B) The outdoor unit has leaked and is short of refrigerant. You can check this when the outdoor unit is running by feeling the thicker copper tube on the right hand side of the unit. This should be cool to cold. If no temperature difference is felt, it is short of refrigerant. Hope this helps you. Goodbye

Automatic Temp Control

I believe that is how automatic temp control works once the desired temperature setting is reached it should shut off then maintain this temperature thus kicking on and off. Or is the problem that its not getting to the temperature you are requesting.
