Washer machine drains while filling

I just received a used whirlpool washer maching..I tried to see the model # but it looks like it has been "wiped" off of it... It drains as it is filling. The spin and rinse cycle work. I tried raising the hose to 39" like I read somewhere, but that isn't stopping it...HELP! PLEASE! TIA whirlpool L75300xkwo top loading washer

I forgot to mention that this washer machine is 8+ yrs old...is it mechanical or electronic?? I have NO clue...if it is the power board...is it time to get a new washer...price wise? Also it needs dog ear...the agitation is pretty weak...or so it seems the little bit it gets to go between filling and draining.

Whirlpool AWN 321 washer continues to drain water out of drum throughout the whole wash and rinse cycles. The consequence of this is the machine continually draws in hot and cold water to achieve the programed water levels within the drum. Obviously wash is ineffective as the detergent solution within the drum is continuously diluted.
    Thanks for any anticipated help.

If the pump is actually coming on at all times, then I imagine this machine has a completely electronic control system ? - i.e. No mechanical timer ? - If this is the case, then the switch that controls the pump is an electronic solid-state device, or, more rarely, a relay on the board. Looks like you'll need a new power board.

Machine whirlpool not filling whith water

Hi from retired Englishman in SW France,
This is symptomatic of a malfunctioning water control valve- the hot water one, if the washer is hot and cold fill, and the cold one if it is just cold fill!
Sorry but it needs replacing and a service call to confirm that it is not something else- like the control board not feeding the correct voltage to the valve ;-0(
If this has assisted you please consider a 4 thumbs up for the rating.
Thanks and good luck!

What is the best way to clean the mold off the door gasket

I use to have the exact same washer. When Maytag was Maytag before the merger with Whirlpool they suggested using a mixture of bleach and Sunlight power dishwasher detergent. You can also usually find a washing maching cleaner like Tide washer cleaner or Washer Magic. Run it on the longest and hottest wash cycle. Stop the maching during the wash portion and wipe the door seal down well with a rag and ware gloves. Also make sure that the little drain hole in the center of the bottom of the door boot (gasket) is not not blocked up with lint or anything. If your mold problem is really bad you might have to call a repair man out to replace the gasket and clean inbetween your inner and outter tubs.

Does not fill to wash

If draining is occurring at the same time as it is filling you have siphoning happening. There could be 2 reasons for this.

#1 the drain hose must be higher than the washer tub before it connects to the drain pipe in the house.

#2 the drain hose from the machine must not stick into the house drain more than 6" - if it is pushed down the drain too far it will siphon out the water in the machine.

Won't fillCalypso whirlpool washer model#GVW9959KQ1 LD on display

LD is long drain error, the machine does not fill because it is in fault mode, but error is on drain system.

If there is a drain problem, the parts that must be checked are drain hose, pressure switch, drain pump assembly, timer control.

Check if the drain hose at the back is kinked or blocked.

Test the pressure switch, blow into the small hose, and use a multimeter to check if switch has continuity.

Remove access panel and get to the drain pump hose to check for ablockage. You will need to disconnect the hose and collect the water.

Keep a container ready to collect water when you undo pump hose.

Ifall the rest is OK, test and eventually replace timer board.Problemwith water pump are far more commonly causing this problemsthenfaulty timer board.

Parts and diagrams available here.

Whirlpool washer will not drain

Well i think you should be looking in the filter? Or in the pump. These are the only thiongs that will stop it from draining or spinning! The machine will not spin if it has water in it. It will go into spin inhibit to protect the machine. Check for lost items and then look at pump/filter if nothing then replace the pump then you will be ok.

Whirlpool washer continuouse water water runninng into tub

try turning the mach off while it is spinning and filling.if it continues to fill or drip heavy, the mixing valve is not closing completely and needs to be replaced.if the water stops when the mach is turned off, there is a problem with the pressure switch.
