Question about Canon PowerShot S5 IS Digital Camera

I cannot load images from the camera to the

Today when I tried to load the pictures from the camera to the computer nothing happened. Normally I attached the mini usb cable to the input usb in my computer and it brought up the window that I would click on to download images. That quit and my computer does not recognize the camera. I changed the cable, tested the usb port on the computer (OK), tried another computer and the same thing happened. Could the USB output in the camera have gone bad? I need a solution as I use this camera all the time. Thanks

Camera is not recognized by computer on three Gateway desktop machines, two brand new HP machines but it is recognized on an old Dell GX 80. This camera was working fine on my Gateway just last month.

Go get a card reader and transfer your images thru that. That's the only way I ever transfer my images from camera to computer. You can get one relatively inexpensive...that is...if your computer doesn't already have a card slot in it.

The shutter in the camera lens is not working, the motor that controls the aperture has failed or the related gears. This device will require a camera specialist to resolve the issue and an estimate recommended.

The camera will need to be plugged in and turned on for you to be able to transfer pictures from it.
Plugging the camera in will not make anything special happen on its own-- if you are using Windows (after the camera is plugged in, turned on, and with your memory card still in the camera), try opening "My Computer" and looking for the camera's icon within that window. The camera (and the photos on the memory card inside) will be shown just as any other CD or jump drive that you would plug into your computer. You can copy photos off of the camera by double clicking the camera's icon, (probably opening the DCIM folder) and dragging and dropping the image files onto some other location on your computer.

Panasonic camera having problems loading images to computer.

In "my computer" double-click on the removable disk E and it should open with your picture files. You can then select them, and drag and drop them into a folder you create on your desktop. If that fails, you could always use a separate card reader to download your pics.

I have fixed my friends camera for her. This is how to fix it. Make sure the USB is connected to the computer and the camera. Go to MYCOMPUTER. You should see a Removable disk or Removable drive (E). Double click to open and it brings up a folder. DCIM. Click to open. It says IMAGE. Click to open. All your images should be in that file.

let me know if this worked for you or any one else.

Maybe you need to add a software driver for your FinePix 2800, got a disk with the camera? Try loading (reloading?) the driver.
