Disconnect the RCA and speaker wires from the amp. Do you have ~0 ohms resistance between the non-bridging speaker temrinals and the shields of the input RCA jacks?

I have 2 kicker cvr15 4 ohm duel voice coil speakers how do i wire them to a kicker zx1000 amp??????????

The ZX1000 is a two ohm stable amplifier, so this means that you have to connect your two voice coils in series to give you around 8 ohms impedance per speaker, then connect your two speakers in parallel to give you 4 ohms impedance on the single mono channel on the amplifier. I recommend you connect it up in the following manner:

I've been running a kicker kx 800.2 and it has worked until now

Hello highryguy420,

It sounds like one or more of the output components is failing on the amp. You can contact Kicker support directly for instructions to return the amp for repair: support@kicker.com . Alternatively, if you have a local car audio shop that does component level repairs, they could perhaps save you some money and time.

Hope this helps.

I cant hook up my amp

Hello cesar199064,

These are the steps you required to install your amp and subs:

1) Purchase an amp wiring kit with 2 or 1/0 gauge power and ground wires.
2) Decide on a location to mount the amp where it will get proper airflow and will not interfere with operation of the vehicle. Closer to the battery is better. Decide on the location and install the sub enclosures.
3) Locate a place on the metal body of the vehicle within about 3" of your amp for the ground. Connect the ground wire to the amp ground terminal and to BARE METAL on the vehicle.
4) Run power wire from battery positive (+) using one of the amp kit ring terminals through a 100A fuseholder to the amp positive terminal. DO NOT install the fuse yet.
5) Run a "remote" wire from the remote turn-on lead (usually blue or blue/white) of your dash mounted head unit to the amp turn-on terminal. Run a set of RCA cables from the preamp or subwoofer outputs on the head unit to the amp inputs.
6) Run speaker wire, preferably at least 12-gauge, from the amp output terminals to your subs.
7) Check all of your wiring. Make sure that no insulation was damaged or peeled off during the running process. Make sure there are no loose strands touching adjacent terminals or bare metal.
8) Use a multimeter set to read "ohms" and test from the negative battery post to the amp ground terminal. You should read "0".
9) Install the fuse.
10) Turn on your head unit and listen to those big Kickers thump.
11) Adjust the amp settings according to your manual.

The best place I've found for in depth information on audio installs is The Install Doctor. You'll find step-by-step procedures, color photos, wiring details, and even the tools required. I recommend that you begin with the "tech docs" link and read through some of the PDF documents.

Hope this helps.

My Amp Keeps shutting off

You need to get an amp with higher wattage. Obviously, your amp cannot handle those two 10" monsters. hehe Nice Subs though :D

My kicker amp turns off

It sounds like you may have the load impedance too low. How many voice coils per woofer? How many ohms is each coil? If you have DVC woofers, are the coils for each woofer wired in series or parallel? Are the speakers wired in series or parallel. Let me know if you need me to clarify anything.

What amp to use

recommended maximum for the sub boxes is 1600/800 here is the link to the manual if you need it; http://www.kicker.com/06/tech-support/manuals/manuals/2007/2007%20CompVR%20Box%20d01%20Web.pdf If you really wanted to get the maximum from your subs then a zx750, or possibly a zx1000 would be the ideal choice. Either amp you suggested will work, but you will have more fun with a 750 which should do fine. Hope this helps :)
