That tv has minimum-110 to 245 max, the power supply shoud be switched mode. there for any voltage from 110-245 it can work without problems.
check if your voltage is above 245v, buy a transformer of 110 output, to be on the safe place on your tv.
but if the voltage is within, no need to modify.
okey

How do i connect hammacher wireless speakers to a toshiba smart tv

Model of both the TV and speakers, please. For example, without the model of the TV how is anyone supposed to know which inputs/outputs it has?

Edit: Dan, Thanks for providing the model numbers. I was hoping the solution would be something simple like switching the audio from internal to external speakers in the TV settings. However, when I looked at the owner's manual http://support.toshiba.ca/support/ceg/manuals/LEDTV/40-50L3400UC_E.pdf it appears that the rca jacks you tried on the back of the TV are inputs for old VCRs, DVD players etc. rather than an output which would be needed to send an audio signal to your speakers. In this case you will need to use the DIGITAL AUDIO OUT on the back on the TV. In order to use this you will need to purchase an Optical Digital Toslink Coaxial to Analog RCA converter. Make sure it uses a larger Toslink connector and not a mini one. The Toslink cable will plug into the DIGITAL AUDIO OUT on the back of your TV and then be plugged into the converter device. Your white and red RCA cables will go between the converter and your speaker transmitter unit. In addition the converter will have a power adapter that needs to be plugged into a wall outlet. There may need to be some audio settings changed in the TV menu to get this to function properly. It's best to buy from a retailer with a good return policy just in case it doesn't work.
Hope this helps.

Hi,what cable do I need to link a Toshiba Satellite U330-14B to a tv please?

I couldn't find any record of that model of a Toshiba. It looks like you might be talking about a Lenovo IdeaPad U330. Assuming that's correct, that laptop has a an HDMI out.

If your TV has an HDMI input on it, then all you need is an HDMI cable.

If your TV is older and does not have an HDMI input, you would need a converter box that converts the digital signal to an analog one. Search the internet for "HDMI to Composite converter". There's plenty of choices out there that can do this task.

Will the Toshiba Model 36A42 work without a converter box?

The short answer is no. The reason for that is because it's an analog TV and has a standard tuner which is now obsolete because of the changes to all digital programming last year. You won't be able to use it with out a converter box. I won't recommend a particular brand or model, that would be your choice. Here is a selection of "boxes" available.

Toshiba Color TV CF306 - Can it receive digital, with converter

The short answer is yes. The method is to set the TV to receive either channel 3 or 4. The converter will receive the digital broadcasts and "re-broadcast" them on either 3 or 4 analog for the TV to receive.

Let me know if you need anything else.

36A50 Digital ready?

Hi duce1500,

Unfortunately, the 36A50 is not HDTV-ready. That means you will need a converter box. Here is a link to the model's specs, which includes this information:

http://www.amazon.com/Toshiba-36A50-36-TV/dp/tech-data/B00004YMBV/ref=de_a_smtd

I should mention, however, that if it's connected to cable (or certain satellite services), you won't need a converter to watch the TV - you'll receive the digital signal (although you won't have the 1080-pixel HD resolution - the 36A50 only has 850 lines of resolution).

I hope this helps. Please let me know if I can be of any further assistance.
