Question about Estate TEDX640JQ Electric Dryer

1 Answer

Estate dryer My dryer has heat but the inside will not turn. I read that it could be either a motor or belt problem. However, I don't know how to take the panel off the front part of my dryer. Please help the pile of clothes is getting larger by the minute.

Usually there are no screws, There are two large clips located inbetween the top and bottom of the unit where the crack is. All ya gotta do is take a large common screwdriver and pry around the two front corners. Yes it is hard and tough but it holds the top on. Give that a whirl and let me know :-)

It sounds like your drive belt might be broken you can get a new one if you go to enter in your model number and it should cost around 9$ the other possibility is the tension pulley or if it doesn't sound like your motor is running but most likely the drive belt .

Where should i look for the belt location inside the drier? the drier has heat, its making nois as a motor is ok but do not rotate anymore

If you need to find parts or manuals for the dryer, go to Google website and type in you model number and then type in what you need manuals or parts. More then likely your belt came off the idler pulley.

My Whirlpool Gas Dryer Estate Model # TGDS680BW1 will not tumble when I turn it on but the motor still runs. How can I fix it?

The problem is likely the dryer belt . Here is a video on replacing a dryer belt. It may be a different model but the process will be the same. You can also enter in your model # for diagrams and illustrations. Not all models are available. All parts come with installation instructions.

Bosch wta 2000 dryer, heats but drum not turning

If you can hear the motor running then the belt has came off or it is broken. If you cant hear the motor then you possibly have a bad motor.

I have a Estate Whirlpool model#TGD5740. Smells like smoke when running. Still drys with heat and runs fine. What would cause this

You could have a build up of lent inside the dryer which might have ignited. Dryer should be dissasembled and cleaned.
Could be that your motor is over heating.
Depends on what type of smell your smelling;.If its the motor over heating, motor would have to be replaced.

Dryer wont turn but it will heat up

Do you hear the motor running. If you do then the belt is broken. If you dont then you have an issue with either the centrifical switch on the motor or the motor itself

Estate dryer electric, heating element gets hot but motor does

shut off power to dryer. take front off dryer, remove belt from motor and idler pully (if there is one) try turning the motor shaft by hand. if it doesn't turn ,take off back of dryer and remove blower housing and see if anything is blocking the impellers.. if not any of these then you may have to get professional help it may be a bad motor or timer
