Question about Westinghouse LTV-17v1 17 in. LCD Television

1 Answer

Loses electric The TV has been in the living room and worked fine. I recently moved it into my bedroom but it turns itself off when I turn on the hall light or the bathroom light (both located outside of the bedroom). I tried using a power strip/surge protector - same result. Any ideas?

Re: Loses electric

Get a voltage meter and see if you have 110-120volts ac at the outlet. If the lights and/or a bathroom fan have any feedback they could lower the voltage to your TV and it may have a low voltage safety relay that turns off the TV when low voltage is present. This happens in older homes. If this home is older this little problem may be telling you that the wiring in your home is old and in need of replacement. You do not want a fire.

Suddenly i turn on tv and nothing. it states "no signal" I have a verizon box in bedroom DVR in living room works fine.

Hi Robert,
First make sure the verizon box is turned on. If it is on make sure your TV is on the correct source input. When you turn on the TV, a display will momentarily show you what input your TV is set to. Usually HDMI1 or COMP is used. Push the TVinput or TVsource button on your remote until the correct input is found.
Good Luck

Tv in bedroom not working but tv in living room working any suggestions

I am assuming it does not turn on. Did you try a different outlet that you know is working? If you know the outlet is working and the tv does not turn on or tries to turn on but does not then I believe the tv's power board has failed. If you use a remote, is the remote working? How old is the tv?

If the facility is using just standard analog cable, it should be fine. Just turn the TV on and go through the setup menu and let the TV autoprogram itself to find and program into memory all active channels

Hi there
Are you watching it through a cable box in both rooms? If so, it may be that the box in your living room has packed up.

The power light (bright blue) on my Olevia 26" LCD burns brightly in my bedroom ALL DAY and ALL NIGHT. Is there anyway to dim it?

Had the same problem and took the easy way out: I cut a small piece of electrical tape and covered the LED. There is no way to dim it.

Screaming static

Try turning off different lights near the room or in the room that it is in. Our tv does that if the overhead light in our bedroom is on, it's a room right next to our living room.
