Question about Westinghouse LTV-17v1 17 in. LCD Television

1 Answer

Loses electric The TV has been in the living room and worked fine. I recently moved it into my bedroom but it turns itself off when I turn on the hall light or the bathroom light (both located outside of the bedroom). I tried using a power strip/surge protector - same result. Any ideas?

Get a voltage meter and see if you have 110-120volts ac at the outlet. If the lights and/or a bathroom fan have any feedback they could lower the voltage to your TV and it may have a low voltage safety relay that turns off the TV when low voltage is present. This happens in older homes. If this home is older this little problem may be telling you that the wiring in your home is old and in need of replacement. You do not want a fire.

Suddenly i turn on tv and nothing. it states "no signal" I have a verizon box in bedroom DVR in living room works fine.

Hi Robert,
First make sure the verizon box is turned on. If it is on make sure your TV is on the correct source input. When you turn on the TV, a display will momentarily show you what input your TV is set to. Usually HDMI1 or COMP is used. Push the TVinput or TVsource button on your remote until the correct input is found.
Good Luck

Comcast remote does not work after dark, works just find in day

I have had the same problem I have two bell receivers one in the bedroom and one in the living room, in low light the remote in the living room would work much like yours, but if I took the same remote into the bedroom it worked fine in low light, the second remote responded exactly the same, the problem in my situation was the TV had a light sensor that adjusts the picture depending on the light in the room, with this option turned off. The remote works just fine in low light situation.

Router issues in my apartment.

When to moved into the penthouse, there are more walls between the wireless router and the laptop in the bedroom. The walls are probably reinforced concrete walls which will stop or weaken the radio waves penetrating into different rooms. When you lived in a house this was not a problem.
The only way to solve this problem is to move the wireless router near an opening such as a door and move the laptop as close as possible to the wireless router to get a better signal strength.
The outer way is to install a wireless repeater or connect a long network cable to the router and the laptop.

Kolin window type aircon shuts off by itself

This may be due to the size of the room. The master bedroom may be smaller than the living room? The unit is therefore reaching setpoint temperature and cycling (shutting off)? Or it could also be a faulty thermostat.

Sounds like you could have a problem with the fan....but there is also an equaly good chance it's the wiring of the fan. Perhaps a loose connection. If you are not familiar with checking electrical connections, you probably need to call an electrician to check the wiring SOON, before there is a short. If all connections are good, then you will know it's the fan (or the remote receiver on the fan).
Hope this helps!
