Question about Siemens SpeedStream 2624 (SS2624) Wireless Router

Lights are gone

I have the SpeedStream router 2624 for about 4 years and worked perfectly. A few days ago I foing that it doesn't work and all lights are turned off. I tought it's not connected to the electricty but I found it is... when I plug out/in the AC cable all lights turned on but then they're turned off. I tried it several times and always same beavior... does it mean that the router is malfunction? (It's connected to the electricty througha 110V-220V transformator since I bought it at the US and the vault used in my country is 220V...)

Try leaving the router on as if you keep turning off it will have to handshake every time, try that, see if that cures it..

Are you trying to install the router.
You can do it manually without the CD.
Make sure that your computer is able to go online through the modem.
If your computer is able to go online through the modem
Then you need to connect the computer to the router and the modem to the router.
open the set up page of the router and change the settings of the router according to the ISP.

Hi! There will be a problem with the wireless connection. I suggest before you go to windows 7, check at your router website if there is a new update for the firmware for windows 7.

press the small reset button on the back of the unit. It will remove any security settings and allow you to use it

If you dont want this router to be a DHCP, all you need is disable the DHCP function in this router. So, this router will only act as a switch and will not provide IPs to the other devices.
To disable the DHCP,you need to log on to the web interface of this router . Hope this helps

My speedstream 6520 will not let me log in using the default logins.... it keeps saying i have a username error but 'admin' is already coloured in there!!?? Cheers Mags

Only way is to reset the Router to Factry settings.

Press the reset button on the bottom. But it has two modes one is just a reboot and the other is return to factory settings.a short press reboots it, if you hold it down for a few seconds until the power LED flashes between green and red, then release it, that will factory default it.Then you will be able to login.

you have to configer your router are you using dsl or cabel inter net
cabel you dont need to set in log on but dsl you do
secound configer your router wireless i think you are are useing dsl speed stream bell use

Speedstream router 2623 doesn't work

it could be possible that the router is just not in sync with the modem. you can try to power cycle the devices first by turning them off. then turn on your modem first, wait for all the necessary lights to turn on, then the router and then the computers. check if you'll be able to connect to the internet again. if not, you may need to access the router's page to check if it's properly configured or not.

Well, If You've Had It For Four Years, It Definitely Sounds Like Your Router Has Died So To Speak. Most Routers Only Tend To Last A Few Years Of Being On Constantly. I Would Suggest Buying Another Router Because The Cost Of Repairing This One Really Isn't Worth it. Good Luck, Brodey
