Demo Mode wont go away!!

TV works great sounds great but the demo function keeps coming up. I thought it might have been a weak battery in the TV remote or DTV remote. To my dismay it wasn't the case. I removed both batteries and still the tv was acting up.I unplugged it for 1 min and plugged it back in, didn't work. Please help.. Capt Delo

I can NOT stop the "verbiage" from appearing and

gfarley806,

Your description sounds like your unit is in the "DEMO" mode. The procedure to access the demo mode and turn it on or off is in the operaitons manual. If you do not have one you can download one for free at http://www.retrevo.com/support/Toshiba-42H81-TVs-manual/id/311bh747/t/2/ . If you do not care about getting the maual and just want the verbiage to end here is the procedure:

To start the demo mode:

Press and hold the MENU button on the front of the set for 4 seconds.

To stop the demo mode:

Press RECALL, EXIT or Power
Thanks for using FixYa and for the great rating. Great ratings keep experts answering questions. Thank you.

Demo mode wont go away what do i do?

Hi i,m ken I am working on this problem, I found this tv has chip problems, start at the power supply ($100) and go from there. If the power supply checks out ok check the chips, there is a way to reset the chips, also disconnect any add ons to the tv, and try that. I was told you can remove the batteries from the remote press all the buttons and reset the chips, but they did not have good results! I will keep working on this. ken
