Question about Motorola Mobility PC850 Wireless Bluetooth Adapter (98680)

1 Answer

Keep getting the error "USB device not recognised."

Hi, i dont know what has happened to my motorola pc850 adaptor. I bought it as a combined kit with the plantronics headset as an internet talking kit. It worked fine for 3-4 months. Now it says , "USB device Note recognized-One of the devices attached to this computer has malfunctioned, and Windows does not recognize it.". Then it gives the message "Invalid license. Shutting down stack server." I tried Un-installing and re-installing the driver, but the problem came back. Please help.

Re: Keep getting the error "USB device not recognised."

This means that your license has run out. The internet talking kit was not free it had a temporary license and it expired, when you try to reload it, it does not work because a file has been added to your computer that prevents it from working without a vaild license. Now you have some options, use VMware create a virtual machine that shares this hardware without loading the program, ghost the VMware machine and then save this image. Load the USB drivers and the program, use for 3-4 months until the license runs out. when the license runs out use reimage the VMware machine with the ghost image and reload the usb driver and the talking kit program. Yes its a lot of work, or you can just buy the license load it and as they say keep on getting up.

I could not install driver in vista

It is suppose to be plug and play. Vista advantage is you need not install drivers for most if not all external hardwares.

Try letting the system locate the phone itself.

Blue screeen with error on RT2500USB for wusb54gv4

Driver problem. Go into control panel and delete the adapter drivers. Remove the wifi adapter Then re-boot. I suspect the BSD (blue screen of death) was a result of a driver problem. If you have another computer that you can get on the internet with, go to the manufacturer website and download a driver. If you can get one, install the driver BEFORE plugging in the device and wait for the install program to prompt you to plug in the device. If you can't download a new driver, try plugging in the device again and see what happens. You need to avoid the BSD.

DWL-132 D-Link Wireless Adaptor

Thats actually a fairly common error with wireles usb adaptors across brands. Just go to the d-link website and get new drivers.
Here's a website describing other d-link usb adaptors with the same problem.
If the new drivers don't help you may need to get a new adaptor.
