Question about Lexmark International Z615; 4800x1200;W/CABLE Printer
My printer wont print pictures. it will only print documents like words or whatever but not pictures.for example i wanted to print an attachement (which was a DL that had been scanned and emailed to me) and it just wouldnt print when I would open the attachement it would "pretend" to be printing but the page would come out blank.but if i would just print out the email the driver license WOULD print but in a very small size. I also saved the DL to my documents and pictures and then tried printing it and it just never did.and also when it prints a picture with words for example a clownfish and the information of its life cycle, the clown fish will come out black and white even if it has a colered ink cartridge and I already checked the settings in the printer and i dont have the "make colored copies print black and white" box checked. but when i print a "test" page it does print both color and black im so frustrated Im already looking to buy a new printer and im getting ready to break this piece of junk into tiny pieces.

I have a z600 that i use. If not used for about a month the ink does clog the print nozzles and eventually ink cartridge does dry out. To avoid this even if i dont have to print anything I run a diagnostics test that prints out a nozzle aligment test every two weeks. The great thing about this is that it uses very little ink.You can find this test in your software that was provided by Lexmark. This will keep your nozzles cleaned and you will notice this helps extend the life of your cartridge.

Seemes very daft, and sounds like a twit, but not really.
When I recieved the new cartridge I placed it in the correct cartridge retainer in the printer matching up the dark green colour of the cartridge and the top clip, and it printed nothing even after a tryed re-seating it.
So I placed it in the other thinking maybe I somehow might have placed it in the wrong slot, so I placed it in the other (Colour), and set that up as I did the other, and it printed a blurred page but then stopped printing.
After that I then placed it back in the other cartridge retainer, set it up as the previous times when it did not work, and then it worked.
Seems strange and simple, but it did not work the first time at all, and after faffing with it finally did.
This might help someone, and then again might not.

SOURCE: printer not printing
In this case what i would request u to do is....... Take out both the catridges from the Printer......... Take 2 Paper Towels one should be wet with Luke warm water and the other one should be dry........... Take the Colour catridge first turn it upside down and u will see a small copper plate on the catridge from where the ink comes out....... Place the wet paper towel using ur thumb on the Copper plate and press it a lit bit for 10 Seconds...... Now remove it and see whether u see any ink on the paper towel.......... U should see some ink on it now place the dry paper towel on the ink catridge in the same way........ Now do the same procedure again.......... Do the same procedure twice on the Black Catridge................. Now take the dry paper towel and turn the direction of the cartridge so that u can see a Copper plate on it with small boxes just clean that copper plate with the Dry Paper Towel.......... Know insert both the catridges inside the Printer the Colour Catridge should go in the right side and the black on the left........ Unplug the Power Supply from the printer....... Press and hold the Stop/Clear button on the Printer and Plug in the Power Supply while holding the Stop/Clear button it should say clearing on the screen at that point u can go ahead and release the Stop/Clear button.......... Now the Printer will ask for the Date Time and Country Language......... Set everything up...... Now try to Print i am sure it should work.......... Good Luck............

Try these steps after these if you face the same problem then you need to get the cart exchanged as it may be defective as Lexmark cart comes with 6 months warranty ...
# Hold the cartridge upside down, with the bar-code label facing you and take a damp paper towel.
# Use the towel to wipe the printhead of the cartridge on the bottom (where the ink comes out). Wipe the printhead horizontally in one direction only (left to right).
# Continue doing this until it looks clean.
# Then dab the cartridge on the towel to make sure the ink is flowing.
# Next, look inside the printer and locate the carrier that holds ink cartridges. Caution: Make sure the cartridges are not installed at this point.
1. Look for a shiny piece of metal underneath the contacts at the back of the carrier.
2. Take a damp cotton swab (use water only!) and wipe along the bottom of the shiny metal piece. Note: You may need more than one swab.
# Reinstall the cartridges, making sure you snap them correctly into the printer.

SOURCE: I just installed a Lexmark
printer and fax
right click your printer, choose properties
go tab by tab and look for print quality and then try
something like this
choose econo mode, or ink saving mode to start.
try to print in grayscale mode and use only the black ink cartridge.
that should be your new default, and you don~t have to change it from winthin other programs
