My Intel D945PVS motherboard has become very slow. I tried to add memory (4g) but no help. I think it could be the motherboard or cpu. I see the cpu running at 100% a lot of time. Can you help.

I will suggest to see running processes. It will show you what processes are running and which uses more memory (also cpu usage). It might be some virus or unwanted program.

My Gateway MX6025 is running extremely slow! I understand it's not a powerful hard drive and it's a lower end computer, but the speed at which it is running is comparable to PCs 25 years ago....

Hi gmarconi09...
You could have too much "Bloatware"...garbage that is slowing down your machine.
You have three options...
1...Delete all the unused programs, pictures, etc. off of the computer, that may speed your machine up.
2...Do a "System Restore"...the way you do that is:
Left click on "Start">All Programs>Accessories>System Tools>System Restore, pick a time when the computer was running faster and click on it...It will restore your computer back to an earlier date when it was running right and faster.
3. Format the Hard Drive and reinstall the operating system...You will need the discs that came with the computer to do that.
To format the hard drive:
Double Left click on "My Computer">Right click on "Drive C" (if that is your main drive)>a drop down window will appear...slect Format.
Keep in mind that once you choose "Format" it will wipe your hard drive and you will loose all files, pictures, etc that you have put on the computer since it was new....but it will also take it back to the original condition of when you purchased the computer.
Please take time to rate me

Hi! My IBM R52 Notebook has gotten pretty slow. What shall do to get it quicker again and how can I formate the notebook! thanks for your valuabl advise in advance, rp

Try cleaning up your unused programs and files using disk cleanup and defragment your drive using disk defragmenter.
To formaer your drive and reinstall the OS, run the computers recovery wizard, or insert the recovery disk that came with your computer.
If you do not ahve a recovery disk or recovery program, use a windows installation disk like windows vista, windows XP DVD to format and reinstall the OS.
Make sure to backup the stuff you want before attempting this!

System slows down because of dvd rom problem

I suppose you could try to stop apps starting up with your system, sounds like you may have too much junk running with your system. It could also be that you have some malware on this DVD that's causing you problems.

Slow computer -how to restore a Fujitsu Siemens Amilo Pro v1000

If the units are running slow, you can do some maintenance on them to speed them up.

First, run defragmenter on both units.(in Safe mode)

Download ScrubXP which will automatically clear your temp, cookies and TIF files.

Download CCleaner and run it.

Run your Anti-virus program: download the free version of AVG. (Great virus protection.)

Other programs to use are SpyBlaster and Winpatrol, all of which are free.
This should help, if you feel that you need to format and restore the units, youcan do so. But try this first.
