My 1d refuses to allow me to change iso or other changes

Do you have custom settings enabled? If so, disable them. Your ISO could be automatically adjusting to meet available light levels.

Press the ISO button and the current ISO should be displayed in the top LCD window. Use the wheel right next to the ISO button to change the ISO.

How do i open an iso File?

Hello Keaqanvermaa,

'.iso' is an image format. To open an iso file you need to install any one of the softwares called 'magic iso, ultra iso, power iso etc.
After insatlling any one of these software the .iso files icon changes into a recognized iso file format. You can now double click to open to and view whats its contents are, if its a software iso file you have to extract it first to a folder.
Good luck

How do i change the iso settings?

To change the ISO setting: press the F button to display the F-menu. Use cursor-up/down to select "ISO" and press cursor-right.

In general you want the ISO as low as possible in order to keep the noise down as much as possible. However, in low-light situations or photographing fast-moving subjects, low ISO values may lead to excessive blurring. In such situations you may want to use higher values since a noisy picture is better than no picture.

ISO stays on Auto. I push the ISO button to change the ISO off of Auto and it doesn't do anything on my 40D

The ISO is set to Auto and can't be changed when shooting in Basic Modes (all of the icons and the green circle). ISO can only be adjusted in Creative Modes (P, Av, Tv, A-DEP, M). If you want to adjust the ISO in Creative Mode, press the ISO button and then turn the dial next to the shutter trigger.

ISO AUTO ERROR

Need more information regarding your question.

If your error is about your images being brighter/darker whenever you shoot at different locations, then this is a normal feature when using Auto setting for your ISO. The exposure will always slightly change whenever the ISO changes.

If your problem is about too much noise, then this is a normal problem when you use very high ISO on the D80. You can remedy this by setting the max ISO to 400 but you will not be able to take non-flash pics in darker environments.

If your problem is the ISO levels do not go up a certain setting, change your MAX ISO setting to a higher number like 1600. At this setting, the pictures will be grainy and have a lot of noise so I recommend you convert the output to black and white.

Underexposed image on Auto mode

You can change the ISO setting also to Auto. If you have the advanced guide (see pp 80, 107).
Press the ISO button it will switch from various ISO setting to AUTO.

Do remember in Bright light , a lower ISO number like 80 will give you very fine images, while as the light level goes down, the ISO number will change to a higher number and the image will become more grainer.
I hope I could answer to your query.
Please do rate. Thanks

F505v ISO

You really can't change the ISO, but you do have some control over it, by being aware of how the program AE modes affect the camera's ISO settings.
