My dishwasher will not fill properly. It does get a little water but not enough to cover the electric heating element inside. I can empty it. Is it a water level switch problem. Any help would be gratefully recived.

- It turns out that old dishwashers do not have a water sensor switch underneath to know when seals have failed and water is leaking slightly. The whole underneath was really rusty and the dishwasher had to be scrapped as it was uneconomic to repair. New dishwashers should have this water sensor switch so make sure that it does when purchasing.

i think i may have the same problem, the timer on my mchine may have broke, first the detrgent door would not open, then the heater element would heat intermitantly. problem i have is the timer is obsolete, machine is 14 years old the inside looks new this is the firsty and possibly last time it let me down to check opperation hold the timer knob firmly push in simultaniously turn sloowly through the stages the timer may opperate as the contacts would not have worn. my theory!!

The nylon cable on my KitchenAid Dishwasher KUDPO1FL has broken where it attaches to the door. Left side only (looking at unit) the right side is fine. How do I replace it? Do I have to pull the unit out to fix it from the side? The spring appears to be fine.
