How can I scan a picture to my computer using 2600 scanner?

Please follow the steps below on how to scan using your Lexmark X2670 printer:

Using the printer control panel

1. Open the top cover, and then load an original document face down on the scanner glass.

2. Close the top cover to avoid dark edges on the scanned image.

3. Make sure that the printer is connected to a computer, and that both the printer and the computer are on.

4. From the printer control panel, press the scan button.

5. Follow the instructions on the computer screen.

Using Windows

1. Open the top cover, and then load an original document face down on the scanner glass.

2. Close the top cover to avoid dark edges on the scanned image.

3. Do one of the following:

• In Windows Vista, click > All Programs, and then select the printer program folder from the list.

• In Windows XP, click Start > Programs or All Programs, and then select the printer program folder from the list.

4. Click Lexmark Productivity Studio.

5. On the main screen, click Scan.

6. Follow the instructions on the screen.

Using Macintosh

1. Open the top cover, and then load an original document face down on the scanner glass.

2. Close the top cover to avoid dark edges on the scanned image.

3. From the Finder desktop, double-click the printer folder.

4. Double-click the 2600 Series Center.

5. From the "What is being scanned?" list, choose the type of document to be scanned.

6. Click Scan.

1. Turn on your computer, wait for it to boot up, then turn on your printer.
2. Double click on the " HP Photo Imaging Director " icon on your desktop, it was placed there
when the printer was installed on your computer. A screen will appear which will show the
scanning options of your printer. Do not make a selection at this time.
3. Place your picture on the glass top scanning surface and lower the lid.
4. Click on " Scan Picture " from the director screen.The scanner will make one pass and allow
you to look at the result, it will then make another pass, completing your scanning operation.
5. Your picture can be viewed on HP Photo Gallery and " My Pictures " folder.

if ur using windows xp then u can scan ur pictures from my computer. if ur scanner is properly installed then u can find scanner or camera device on ur my computer screen. u jst need to right click on that select 'get picture from scanner or camera wizard' . here u will get the scanning option.
& if u having widows vista or windows 7 then u can scan ur pictures from 'paint'. u will find scanner or camera option in file menu.

Incase you dont find a lexmark printer icon to let you scan, you will have to use Windows or any Picture software to scan documents
Ex. MS Paint brush, Windows Live Gallery, PICASA etc

just scan it using the command from the computer ..after that you will find the job into the manager folder..of the scanner..from there you can send it directly ..or edit a little ..and copy into computer and attach to the email..or ..use the feature from the scanner's program to send it ..
make sure you set to scan picture cause scanners have a wizard that you can set to scan image (picture Jpeg ....) or PDF ..document ..

yes. it has the capability of scanning and faxing. install the required software following the procedure. use microsoft paint to carry out your scanning.

If you have a BenQ Scan to Web 3300U, just plug in the scanner to your USB port on the computer and plug the power into the power bar. XP will recognize that you have connected the scanner to your pc. It will install the scanner immediately.. Go to MY PICTURES. The top option on the left hand side of the screen will be "to obtain pictures from a scanner or a camera". Click on this.. It will tell you that you have a flatbed#23 . Click on next. Using the preview button, scan the document. Using your mouse, make the scan box fit your picture or document. Then click on scan. Save your scan job . You can then view your scan job.

How to Scan on Imac using the Lexmark 2600:

1. From the Imac Desktop select the Magnifying glass in the upper right corner of the screen.

2. Search for Preview

3. Open Preview App

4. Put item to scan on Lexmark Glass Face down and close the lid.

5. Select File (In Preview from Top tabs on desktop), then Choose 'Import
Image'

6. Lexmark 2600 Series Window opens

7. Change Scan to Folder, Name and Format to your choices

8. Use cursor to highlight area of image to scan in the 2600 Series Window.

9. Hit Scan from the 2600 Series WIndow.

10. Save the file using the File tab in Preview, and choosing Save

my scanner stop working on the HP Photosmart 2600/2700 and I can't find the disc to reinstall. I don't want to pay again for the disc

You have tried everything possible!. Try and reinstall the OS. If some dll files are corrupted, this will resolve it. You may have to reinstall all other software!
