Try unplugging, waiting 20 seconds then plug back iin. This resets printer, check for paper stuck in the back on the rollers and the top rollers...make sure printer isn't dirty..if rollers are dirty whip off with damp cloth..make sure your using the right type of paper....if these steps don't work and your under warranty call the warranty company....this is a hardware problem that needs to be looked at

My Deskjet 3845 printer 'on' button keeps blinking and doesn't print anything.

Usually an indication of a paper jam. Check it thoroughly for any scraps of paper and see what happens.

The green light on my HP Deskjet 3845 is flashing ..when I try to print it tells me there is a paper jam ..there is no paper jam. I have inspected the printer carefully, reloaded the paper. It will not...

i think u should check for peices of paper ,tiny objects etc that might be obstructing the movement of the paper. also check that the print head is not disconnected from the belt you can check this by slidind the print head from side to side and ensure that both of them are moving hope this helps.

Says paper jam but there isn't one. Have done all the troubleshooting steps..I do mean all of them. how do I get the paper jam status off my little hp deskjet 3845

I ran into a similar problem on another HP Laserjet Printer so this is what I found out from some tough researching. There is a step that requires a specialized tool which is inserted into the printer to clear the problem. This may be caused by an internal (no diagrams available) optical sensor that somehow gets covered with paper dust or blowback (ink particles blown backwards into the printer)? This tool may clear the problem, which I've heard is similar to a strip of heavy card stock. I have not found the procedure for this just that someone mentioned the same problem. Last resort is taking in the stupid printer to be serviced. Hopefully an HP tech will come forward and describe the procedure and maybe some maintenance diagrams. Good Luck.

Paper jammed and was pulled free now after correcting printer does not respond

Try powering it off for 5 minutes including unplugging the power cord and then turn it on and see if that helps. Also restart the pc.

Paper jam cleared but printer does not work

Jalavoie, I don't know if this will be a solution for you but some things to try: I would assume by now you've tried restarting your computer and in turn the printer as well, but have you disconnected the printer from the power. Pull the power lead from the back of the printer wait 30 seconds and replace it. Hopefully this will reset the ink carriage and fix the problem.
Failing that, have you had a GOOD look inside incase there's a bit of paper torn off still there - not necessarily from the one you just removed, it could be from a previous jam.
As you had moved the ink carriage by hand, are you sure you did not bump any of the ink tanks - for surety remove each tank and reseat it. Note:: the ink carriage should never be manually moved.
If none of this helped, can you describe what position the ink carriage is in a and what sounds the printer is making (if any) and exactly which lights are on or flashing.

Blinking green light

Clear the paper jam, or replace the ink cartridge. Possible causes are the paper jam or ink cartridge. The other solution is to disconnect the power from your printer and reconnect it. Hope this helps!
