Line across paper from Canon iR2016 copier
There is a line across the paper on copies from this 2016. I have just changed the toner (the line was appearing before this) and the user manual tells me to clean the fuser roller. I don't know how to do this and don't have the Reference Guide CDrom. might it be something else ?

The line may simply be the optics (mirrors) are dirty. Take a lens cloth or a very soft cloth with 91% alcohol (just alittle bit) and clean them and the exposure glass. That should do the trick. You can also use this method on the rollers as well. Just make sure the fuser roller is cool to the touch first.
