Question about Garmin Map Source City Navigator
I bought Garmin i3 from E-bay and I am in rhode Island and the seller's home is in Kansas and it does not recognize that I am in rhode Island. I registered, changed home address, tried to reset and erase all seller's data, but would not reset. I downloaded the manual and it did not help, it does however recognize my home addreas but the map still shows Kansas, Please help!!
You can just delete the old address by going to favorite and then choose SPELL on the bottom, then type HOME,then click on DONE, delete it, then start over, favorite, home , enter your address, or somewhere close to your home for thift danger.

Hello. Had the same problem and just solved it.
Do this.
Tools -> Manage My Data -> My Locations. Position to Home and then click Manage -> Change Location ..
Cheers.

Delete the "Home" location from "My Favorites", then you can set a new home locaton.

Try this:
Reset the GPS (you'll find the reset button somewhere in the back of the GPS.
when you reset it, make sure your GPS is out there- where it can pick up your location (satellite).
After that- you can set your home location from the favorites area.
Hope that will help.

This product is "discontinued" but you can still get the latest downloads and updates for it including the manuals etc. at: https://buy.garmin.com/shop/shop.do?pID=322 To set your home location go to: Where to?, the Go Home, the "Set home", gives you two options "use current" or "Enter address", Press the "wheel" to acknowlege the message you will get when it changes your location.

I couldn't figure out how to change my map location from Nevada to Texas while in the house. I looked all over the menus on the gps but got no info. So fixya told me to go outside for 10 minutes or so (I didn't need that much time, it only took minutes) with the gps turned on and let the satillite find your current location (which was Texas for me). That's it! So simple, I should have thought of it!

Hi,
A 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
The service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
Good luck!

I have the same problem with the previous guy who lives in Rhode Island. I just bought the GPS shipped from Kansas- and the map only recognize the map in Kansas. I don't know how to set the location at all.
Same problem...difficult to change and even more difficult to find directions. Where are they printed on paper.
how to change the detial map on Garmin GPS, and also language, i have some problem, i only can change display language, but if i give the location name, it's doesn't change just display buildin language
I have a Garmin nuvi 200 and I cant change the home location. If I click on anything in "favorites" I'm able to edit it, but when I click home it just maps out home without giving me the option to edit or delete it
I had that problem when I was in Nevada then went to Texas. Just go outside for a few minutes so your gps can connect to the satillite to find your current position. Easy as that! :-)
