Re: Bios Stuck

Sounds like a thermal issue, check your coolers. remember if you are trying this after running your system for an hour, the heat sinks may be hot. be careful not to burn yourself if your CPU gets to hot your system will freeze like this, also once it gets this hot it will freeze in the bios too.

Check loader..

Check Loader comes from the BIOS. Go into your computer BIOS (tap del del del) and make sure your motherboard BIOS can see the Controller. If not, contact you Mobby manufacture for an upgraded BIOS if your motherboard if it isn't too old, and your controller isn't too ancient either. Next - some controllers and PCI add on cards require to be registered within the BIOS. If it needs to be, you need the floppy or CD from the Controller maker and install it before the Mobby BIOS can see it. Remove the controller, install the BIOS update within your OS then shut down, install the Controller, and reboot.
Or don't reboot, go into the PC BIOS and look if the controller is listed.
Many times, it won't show in the BIOS itself but there will be a Logo and Identification at boot up. So keep your eye on the screen until you pass boot into the OS.

I have problem in asus A8V-vm motherboard in that hard disk is not detected in BIOS but Win-XP is working properly and when I tries to install new windows XP it shows an error that hard disk cannot be...

Asus A8V-VM Motherboard coming with SATA RAID option, thats why you could not see the detected HDD in system BIOS. But you can see the the detected HDD in RAID BIOS. You can enter to RAID BIOS that will pop up after system BIOS. If you are using old version of WinXP it will not detect the RAID controller of you motherboard. Thats why you cannot able to install WinXP. While you booting from WinXP CD press F6 key when the WinXP installer prompted for third party driver. Copy the RAID driver provider in driver CD to a Floppy Disk (INF file) and insert it, hit enter to continue the installation. If you are using WinXP Service pack 2 or higher you do not need this step it will automatically detect the HDD.

How can I format my Sony vaio laptop vgn-nw13gh with my recovery disk please show me the steps

You will need a FULL WinXP system disk (asume your system is Win) either buy a new XP CD (i doubt you will get it)
to get a pirated WinXP system disk click the foll link....before that downlaod a software called UTorrent or it
the foll link will downlaod the link file of Torrent and that will help you download the full version.....believe me this works....700MB ISO file...burn on CD/DVd using any CD burner software like Nero....
once you download the full OS from piratebay...make a CD/DVD from the ISO image file that is obtained from piratebay....boot you system using that CD....BIOS in your system must be reset to boot from CD as the 1st boot seq in BIOS....

recovery disk will not work....

System wont boot

Disconnect all devices except keyboard and mouse and master cd or DVD. unplug then hit power button. Plug back in. Hit power and hopefully you get to BIOS. If you do make sure you save the BIOS before you leave to start OS. Keep me informed and I'll keep checking your listing to see if its working or not.

The machine frozen only at reboot

it seems to be a hardware issue.
to find out whether the bios or the handling of components is causing trouble, do as follows

when booting up, press pause-button after video-card and RAM check,
right when the system components are being listed(screen will halt)
now look if two or more components(like network card, IDE-controllers)
are using the same IRQ.
If so this could be your problem, because then internal handling on the hardware side fails.
to fix it, enter bios(press F1 orF2 orDEL during booting), set all the IRQ
handling to auto mode and if there is an potion available: plug and play operation system, then disable it.

Now the BIOS manages all components, not windows(it has the capability, though)
now boot up and in windows left-click start, goto: settings - control panel - add/remove hardware - hardware wizard
run the wiz and if it does not find any problems u did it.

good luck

Networking/Motherboard- does not recognize networking devices

Can't WinXP find appropriate driver for your lan card? If Asus did not provide a driver for its built-in lan, i think windows XP already has the driver built in its cache. try to install it using the wiz.

Can we/should we update our bios?

I would not update the BIOS if you aren't haveing problems. If you use WinXP you should have no problems updating the Hard Drive to the 500GB, If you format the disk using the NTFS File system when you install windows, and it only recognizes 137GB of the 500GB, then update, but you shouldn't have any problems. thanks for any ratings

Help in need of advice

Try to delete the partition of your HDD and then create another one an format it to NTFS. Set the bios to boot from CD, Once the setup disk for XP loads, Try to follow the steps I provided.

For the Best OS, you need to make sure the computer is able to get the requirements for certain OS.
For WinXP atleast 256 MB RAM(recomended 512mb),For Vista 512MB(recommended 1gb)
