I have a 12 year old equator clothes processor ez3600cee and the dryer timer switch has gone bad. Have tried to order a new one from the company and it has been delayed for months due to back order. Are there used parts for these machines out there? Thanks in advance

SOURCE: I own the equator clothes

Hi Nina from retired Englishman in SW France,

No, it's not normal BUT not uncommon! I think it is simply a case of the drain motor/pump being unable to pump the water out.

I would gently suggest as a first step that you clean the drain motor/pump lint tray/filter. So many 'faults' are caused by blocked filters and many machines will not even go to rinse or spin or release the door lock if there is any water still left inside.
Following are my complete and generic guidance notes for checking both the drain motor filter and the drain motor ;-0)
REMOVE POWER AND ENSURE YOU HAVE A WATER RECEPTACLE/RAGS TO SOAK UP THE WATER WHICH IS BOUND TO POUR OUT (alternatively use a wet vac as sensibly suggested by VinnyB1234!)
If you are unsure where the filter is, it is often behind the front lower (kick) panel (or in some machines at the rear in an awkward position!). These panels are either held on by (plasic) screws or will just pull off. Most filters are held in by a round cover/knob. Sometimes the filter will not come out with the cover and you will have to persuade it to come out to play.
It's surprising what people have found in theirs! It is always worthwhile checking it on a regular basis.
Now- whilst the filter is removed it is normally possible to see the drain motor and ensure it is not jammed by a foreign object such as a needle or a toothpick. It should be able to be turned by hand/finger- the power IS OFF!
At this point it is also possible to test if the motor works. No clothes or water in the machine, select a spin cycle and put the power back on. You should be able to see the motor turning at some point, possibly straight away. Using something suitable like a glove see if it is easy to briefly slow the motor down. If it is easy then the motor is malfunctioning.

If this has assisted you please consider a 4 thumbs up for the rating.
Thanks and good luck!

Dryer won't heat

There are a few possibilities- I'll take you through them:
1) Most probable: your heating element has gone bad- actually they usually break when they go bad/burn out. This will likely require some skill and some instructions for you to repair- plan on replacing the heating coil and the door seal for good measure, especially if the unit is more than 10 years old.
2) Less probable but possible: are you sure your drum is tumbling? if not, your clothes won't dry and you'll lose the element in short order.
3) yes less probable but still possible- the contacts on the switch dedicated to heat settings or the thermostat have gone bad, denying current to the heating element.
Good luck!!

I have a LER4634EQ1 WHIRLPOOL electric dryer. Last week it started to shut down before completing a cycle. The other day it completed the cycle but the clothes weren't dry. It also makes a loud noise when...

if the noise is a rumbling sound tha that would be your roller's.the other problem sounds like a bad timer.time to think,do i put that kind of money in a 12 year old dryer or get a new one.

My clothes are still very damp after one run in the dryer. I remove the lint every time and check to see if everything is plugged in and not restricted. The dryer gets hot and turns but leaves the clothes...

Could be the timer switch is not giving you the right drying cycle.
Try to change dryer cycles from the one setting that you would normally use to a different cycle and see what happens.
Or if you have a timed type timer switch, put it to 60 minutes and see if that helps. If it does then you may need to replace the timer switch.
Good luck,
I hope this helps

Trying to replace timer 8299771. Can't find my

On the new timer , you have 2 wires comming of the timer motor . The blue wire should go to one of these terminals on the timer itself . The place where there is ONLY a timer motor wire going to , is where it should go .

Wont start after running all night without shutting off

Bad timer, When the machine just runs and runs and runs, or runs for a very short time and shows that it ran the whole cycle but the clothes are still wet then the timer has gone bad and needs to be replaced. IF you go to repairclinic.com. You can order the timer from there or your local appliance repair company. They are around 40 dollars and you can replace the part fairly easy

Dryer thumping

It sounds like the rollers have gone bad. Its an easy fix. If you like the dryer a repair man can fix it cheaper than buying a new one. you may even be able to fix it. if you go sears.com and go to the parts section and put in your model number you can pull up a diagram to see how to take the dryer apart. you can also order the parts from there too. Good Luck.
